Assumed by virtue of the Hopkins fight alone. Didn't Hopkins beat Calzaghe to the punch until he tired as well? I'm pretty sure Hopkins was also able to beat Taylor to the punch as well, which is saying something. Baseless assumption. What we do know is Kelly Pavlik has seriously hurt everyone he faced bar Hopkins, who he barely connected with. I'd say he has more than a punch to be where he is today. These assumptions are all based on one fight at 170(175) that Pavlik was in, against Hopkins no less. We have no idea how he will fare against the normal 168 brand opponent. People tend to overstate the strength of one performance against another. Andrade was made to make Bute look fantastic. It's a pity it took 16 rounds for that to come to fruition. Not saying Bute is bad as I think he's terrific myself. I just don't think he's cut from the same mold as a guy like Hopkins. Not at this point. Obviously, Pavlik did not adjust well to what Hopkins was doing. By that same token, Bute did not adust for 12 rounds against Andrade. In months your opinion may change drastically because right now we know very little.

:nono Don't say it because if there's a 0.0000000001% chance they are listening to you, it won't happen. Funny thing is, I picked Bute to KO Andrade before the 1st fight but foolishly by UD before the 2nd. I also predicted Bute to KO Froch via brutal body punch when there were talks about that fight. I was called a fool. Well, I guess not anymore.
Another hate thread of the highest order from the poster who thought that Pdub against a prime Hearns at 154 was a 50/50 fight. Bute is almost certainly too slippery for KP, but only time will tell for sure what Pavlik's like against a mover. At the very least, he's more technically sound than Andrade and wouldn't just run wildly into something stupid. It would be an interesting fight if and when Pavlik makes the move up.
you just come up with the most intelligent things to say....all of it always against pavlik and team pavlik...u realy hate them dont u..well its boring and the same blah blah so just stfu.
bute will give anyone 160-168 fits. he looked real good last night. there are posts here saying pav only has a punch. this is false. edison miranda only has a punch. there is a big difference
Bute is still overrated. wins over andrade dont make him a superstar. he is still behind ward, abraham, and even kessler and froch. atleast they have more quality wins.
It is an interesting fight I would like to see. Bute has a lot but it would not be a walkover. Pavlik could ko him and vice versa.
Zuniga got out boxed a couple times, and Pavlik stopped him on cuts, but NOBODY ever just beat the **** right out of him like Bute did.
Andrade hit Bute with some right hands that Pavlik would have hurt him with. Andrade missed opportunities Pavlik would have capatilized on. This ain't no walk down primrose lane for either guy. However, I still think KP needs to fight Williams first. If I could arrange things however I wanted I'd have Miranda beat Stieglitz, and then Bute fight Miranda while KP fights Williams. ****, do a split venue PPV; Bute/Miranda from Quebec City and Pavlik/Williams from AC. And then do Bute/Pavlik.
I chose Bute by ko before the 8th. He looked so mad the week before the fight. I know Bute and was sure he wanted to get Andrade on the floor. Nothing less would have satisfied him. Pavlik-Bute: I'm going with Bute but Pavlik is a better fighter than many thinks since the Hopkins fight.
