For sure.I see him being p4p top10 in the coming years, even though it is early days yet.Looking forward to seeing him again later tonight
yeah...but the brits aint the only ones guilty of it, the yanks tend to stay there too remember ,same goes for the germans. they should all try and gain experience fighting abroad this day and age.
They are, but we should take the initiative. Hatton (for example) got experience on undercards abroad, he was on the Naz vs Kelley, Michalczewski vs Prince, Hamed vs McCullough/Barrera vs Wenton and Freitas vs Nelson..... Generally against puddings, but still valuable learning. Plenty of other Brits have gone abroad and got their ass kicked - granted Hatton is better than most (well probably all) of them, but still...... a six rounder there will benefit more than a rematch with Peter Buckley, surely? If Brook wants to get P4P status he HAS to leave Warren, simple as that - otherwise he will stagnate badly ala Hatton, Hamed and Calzaghe.
Hamed? European title fight in his 12th fight, World title fight in his 20th fight (aged 21), first fought outside the UK in his 23rd fight, fought in the US in his 29th fight then four of his next eight fights were in the US? You're claiming he stagnated because of unambitious stay at home matchmaking?
He looks decent but we can better judge Kell Brook once he fights someone with a pulse. His next fight, i.e. 19th fight is against a 12-3 guy who has lost his last 2 of 3 fights by knock outs. If Khan did that in his 19th fight people would be screaming bloody murder unfortunately so given the attention on him.
His competition level didn't improve at times, quite often it was Hamed vs 'former champ' - granted it wasn't as bad as Joe and Ricky, but still........ Warren's matchmaking is awful, ridiculously overcautious.
Last easy win tonight please Warren. 1 more fight after this against a good European boxer and then a title shot if wins them all. Time is on his side but by Warrens standards Brook is going to have to wait a long while before he can fight the best. Needs to get a move on or leave. Probably waiting to pick up his mandatory Warren boxing organization shot.
If Jennings wins the fight will happen and Brook would be about a 2-1 on favourite. Not likely though..... but I could see Jennings taking Cotto the distance, and have in fact predicted it.
Just based on that clip, his handspeed looks fairly slow for a top-tier welter, but it looks like he has good accuracy and decent power.
I would still worry about Brook against Jennings. His defence needs a lot of work. Course I can't see Jennings doing that well against Cotto, he might be no Gary Lockett but he could be in for a short night.
Fighting a pure bum though, there can be no other word to describe it. He's fought two soft touches with poor chins in his last fights. He either needs to fight the top British welters like Watson/Matt Hatton/Lomax which is not a strong domestic scene anyway, or else move onto European.
