You know that Tocker was a last minute replacement right?
So your trying to show examples of worth is quite irrelevant.

:pwned Whether you know it or not.:yep

Pavlik has more skills than you seem to give him credit for... Why did Kessler have to wait ? He was the 2nd best super Middleweight in the world....at that point, all that Calzaghe had accomplished was beating a very hyped Jeff Lacy ... I hope you're paid to write this stuff...:patsch

    1) The terms for Hopkins vs Calzaghe was a money fight nothing more, nothing less. It was a fight between two 20 times champs.

    2) Well, both Tarver and Hopkins were old, and both had RJJ as a common factor. It was another money fight, and Hopkins had to move up. I sincerely hope you see the differences between Tarver/Hopkins/Calzaghe/RJJ and then Pavlik - otherwise - you are a legitimate joke.

    3) There is a difference in the career of Calzaghe as a youth, and a Calzaghe who has had his big fights. He fights for more money - especially now, when he no longer has Warren to make the calls.

    4) Yes, he has, but then again, so has so many other 35+ fighters..

Pavlik hits pretty hard, and has alot of heart, good variety of punches, but he tends to be sloppy and his D is not great, and his chin isn't great to support that, nor is he very fast. I am sure that Pavlik will do well - unlike Taylor - at SMW.

Because Kessler was too much risk vs reward. No one outside Europe even knew Kessler - and many still struggles to know him. I don't make this up, it was Frank Warren who said so, and I can relate. All the big names had eluded Calzaghe, and taking on Kessler till the latter would at least make it a big money fight as well, would be very risky for a Calzaghe who hadn't made most of his talents.

Your last comment - Thank you, I think I should be paid as well.

At least I say something other than clinging onto one statement alone - as if that should justify everything.

I nor you will know why Calzaghe regretted it. So shut up about it, as if it is some announcement that Calzaghe would be afraid - aren't you too old for that?

so all those bums and unknown fighters Calzaghe fought were all "worthy"..:nut

I hate how all this "worthy" BS has been going on in boxing these days, thanks to Mayweather now everyone uses it as an excuse to duck fighters.

Please guys..let's keep this thread in mind and bring it back up when RJJ wins the slap contest with Calzaghe in November :good

Question then...will Calzaghe still be worthy of Pavlik ? :nut

He wasn't king of the hill back then... Roy and Hopkins were - just to name a few.

Sad, pathetic, and true. A sign of what's wrong with boxing and some fans. :-(

So beating Kessler made him worthy of Hopkins?:lol::lol:

I'm not being serious with that, just hoping you can see how ridiculous it can be to be deemed "worthy"...

Depends on what Pavlik wants - to hunt fame and fortune or clean out his own division - and take on other young stars of SMW.

Right now he has to get past Hopkins first.

Well Joe considered Pavlik worthy because he's been mentioning fighting him for god knows how long. Calzaghe fought Peter Manfredo Jr just over a year ago.

LOL, I don't know if it's true or not, but that's a pretty funny statement.

It was a win/win for both Calzaghe and Hopkins. As I said, it was a money fight - not to establish king of the hill. Bernard is just a legend - not a great performer anymore.

Why is Pavlik even facing Hopkins?
