Reasoning approach, you say coming in here with comments like "pavliks a feather fisted yank bum" and "Williams would ice that chinny ***** in 1 or 2 rounds" is reasoning. WOW - you know a lot about boxing.

obviously the irony is wasted on you. I think Pavlik is very good, but limited and as such grossly over rated by people on here. He's not fought a good crop of competition, his best wins coming against a declining Jermain Taylor who's been getting steadily worse. Lets see him fight someone who can give him angles, Taylor already showed us that Pavlik can easily be outboxed when presented with speed and angles. He has good power, heart and stamina, but he's got clear and obvious floors that smarter better boxers will exploit and make him pay for. I'll be sold when he cleans up 160 completely and moves up to face guys like Kessler, Bute, Hopkins and Calzaghe (providing he doesn't retire) etc.

So far people are getting carried away though... lets wait and see, so far he's kept on winning, but he could easily have been KO'd in the first Taylor fight, then what would people's opinions be?

Pavlik is over-rated? Find me another active middlewieght that has a comparable resume'. There is only one with a better resume', and that's Winky Wright, but it is getting harder and harder to consider Winky an active middleweight.

Last year HBO thought they had a brand new 160 pound star, but Pavlik cancelled those plans buy beating Miranda like the proverbial red headed step child!

Pavlik beat Taylor twice after Taylor won a bronze medal in the Olympics, and registered two wins over BHop and a draw with Winky.

He has at least 6 guys on his resume' that had never been stopped before he stopped them.

Pavlik has the highest KO% of any undefeated middleweight champion in history.

When Pav was on his way up Team Pavlik called Winky out a half a dozen times, but Winky wanted no part of The Ghost. (That's actually part of the reason for the McKart fight.)

Joe Calzaghe absolutely refuses to consider a fight with Kelly Pavlik.

Pavlik is rated right where he ought to be.:deal

Not when psychotic fans say he not only beats, but KO's Abraham, Kessler, Calzaghe, Johnson and Dawson.

Kelly Pavlik is very open to counter punches, his defense overall isn't that good. And like Mayweather would say: "He's the same everytime, he's one dimensional, straight up and down, no special effects."

He's an undefeated lineal champion with 30/34 wins by KO. Who's 'overrating' him and by what means?

Just keep in mind that your man, :fight had about as much success as "lackluster" Jermain Taylor against Hopkins. And Taylor fought Hopkins when he was a few years younger and had more stamina. My guess is that had your man fought Hopkins at the same time Taylor fought Hopkins, your man might have one or even two losses.

You Euros, keep thinking that Taylor and Pavlik are jokes and that Kessler and Calzaghe are God-like figures. The truth shall reveal itself soon enough. :good

Dude, you don't have a freaken clue about Taylor. The guy is a very gifted athlete. He poses anyone problems. He gave problems to Hopkins and Winky, two P4P fighters. Yeah, some say he lost to both of them but the point is that all fights were very competitive. His hand speed, power, size, and ability to put together combinations in the blink of an eye would give anyone problems. He just hasn't been able to put his talents together up until the Pavlik 2nd fight. And even then, it wasn't enough to beat Pavlik. That tells you a lot.

Yeah, Pavlik is overrated by some delusional fans. But that's expected. He's not overrated by most people.

Dunny, Pavlik is 26!!!!!! Joe C is 36!!!! When Joe C was 26, he hadn't even fought Eubank. After fighting Eubank, Joe C had 8 unmemorable years before fighting Jeff Lacy. And he did it all in Wales. If Pavlik beats Abraham and a Kessleresque fighter by the end of next year, which is possible, one can make an argument his best wins are better than Calzaghe's - all by age 27! Not that his career is better necessarily, but his definings wins are better. If he just fights until turning 30...Don't forget JT beat Hopkins.

Taylor has blatently declined, he looks like he cant be bothered in the ring anymore, Hopkins has a claim to beating him both times they faced each other! Pavlik has nothing other than his wins over yes the lacklustre Taylor and all of a sudden hes compared to ATGs, hes nowhere near that status. Hes the best of a bad bunch of pretty poor MWs, can you name any decent fighters in the MW division? Nobodys really coming through theyve all been beaten recently, theres only two i really rate at a decent level! Pavlik and Abraham but neither of them are world beaters, youre clearly blinded by his exciting style and high KO rate against a bunch of fighters who arent good enough to carry anyone half decent jock straps as you Americans like to put it!
