Calzaghe won that fight going away, he clearly won more rounds.

Kelly's young and still has time to advance himself, Dude. He can use this experience to his advantage if he chooses to approach it in the right manner. Very few in the sport at the present would've beaten the Hopkins we witnessed last night. That was a sensational performance for a 43 year old.

I can see why the thread poster title this topic as he did. A LOT of Pavlik fans are very disrespectful of Calzaghe and were saying how Pavliks going to smash hopkins and then calzaghe will have to fight him and be KO'd and exposed etc.

I think Pavlik is a great fighter, but there's a clear difference between a great fighter and an elite - both of Hopkins and Calzaghe I put under this bracket

Kelly needs to stay at ****ing middleweight, thats not why he lost, but it would be better for his career long term to stay middleweight.

It was actually 1 1/2 weightclasses or 10 lbs. Pavlik was a huge favorite in this fight and got embarrassed by a 43 year old man. You can't go around talking about how you're going to knock someone out and then go out and get schooled like Pavlik did. Pavlik, is not a joke. However, that was a joke performance last night. Not only by Pavlik, but also by his trainer. He's still young, so he'll be able to learn his lesson and come back stronger.

why don't british posters read my posts...?

or if they do, why do they choose to ignore them and post rubbish like "calzaghe is elite" - which is basically what you just said.

i'm waiting - waiting - for one of you to stop posting this bull**** and debate me on it so i can tell you why it isn't true.

instead, i have to turn blue in the face reading single "i love you" posts without anyone willing to put themselves on the line.

    you up for it?

I have to say it does make me smile when the same people on here saying give pavlik some respect are the same ones with little or no respect for Joe C
    Its double standards.
The thing is there is nobody capable of stepping up right now and giving Joe C , bernard Hopkins and RJJ a decent fight
Joe C, Bernard Hopkins and RJJ might as well create their own league and fight each other because there is nobody capable right now of coming up and beating them.

He looked like a joke, but he's not a joke. He's still beaten at least one decent fighter a couple times.

Unfortunately fans, him, his team...they all got caught up in it and blew what he's capable of out of all proportion. So this looks more embarrassing than it should be if Pavlik had been put into the correct perspective.

I don't blame his fans one bit. Joe gets a lot of **** on this forum. I give Joe **** myself, but I fully admit that he's a very talented fighter and that his resume is severely underrated on this forum. Team Pavlik and Pavlik have been all over Calzaghe. The whole focus of team Pavlik was to beat Hopkins worse than Calzahge did. Well, that **** backfired. You have to expect Calzaghe fans to say something.

I was thinking that very same thing!!! Bernard if he was offered the job may feel honoured and take the offer! We all know that Bernard is quite capable of showing Kelly a trick or 10..as he displayed last night.

I agree. But the excuses by his trainers that "he doesn't have a punch at 170" are quite frankly ridiculous. Lets not forget Hopkins is actually an old middleweight himeself.

He just needs to go back to the drawing board and learn some lessons in the art of boxing, and not be one dimensional. Losing to hopkins last night could end up being a blessing in the future in that if he learns from this it will make him a better more rounded fighter. Pavlik is no joke - just someone that got outsmarted by one of the craftiest masters of the sport of boxing.

I haven't read your posts, I wasn't referring to them. I was just stating that many pavlik fans have blatant disrespect for calzaghe and thus I saw why the calzaghe fan titled this topic the way he did.

As I said, I think Pavliks a great fighter... but not on the same level as the likes of Bhop / Calzaghe. If you think you can tell me why it isn't true that calzaghes elite, then that's impossible to do. It's your opinion - an opinion doesn't make something true. In my opinion (and many others) he is - does that make it true to you? No. It would just be senseless and how many threads are there already on the issue?? Far too many
