Perfect warm up for the Groves Degale clash. Kenny Anderson 12-1 (8Ko's) returns to action on Friday night in a bit of a grudge match with durable, good class trial horse Carl Wild. Its a rematch of a fight that took place in September last year. Kenny dominated the contest and forced a stoppage in the fifth, much to the dismay of Carl who felt he was in a good position to continue. The bout ended with an interview where Wild complained about the stoppage and Kenny suggested a rematch on the car park!!! http://www.hattonboxing.com/tv/tv-p...-sept-2010/kenny-anderson-v-carl-wild?s=kenny anderson Since the Groves fight Kenny has being working tirelessly make the necessary improvements and I can promise you that his sparring with Carl Froch has being something to behold. Anyone who can split rounds with Froch is going to be a handful for any fighter in Europe at the very least and I truly believe Kenny can return from the Groves set back in grreat style and providing he gets a shot soon may end 2011 as the domestic champion. First he must take care of Wild who is an awkward fighter with good survival skills and will come with a point to prove having being upset by the original result. As always the Colne Muni shows will be intensely atmospheric and if anyone fancies a trip over please get in touch and let me know- would be great to have a few of you there. great way to start the weekend. :good
Their first fight was stopped prematurely by the ref and I thought Wild was doing well at times, although Kenny was winning the rounds. Good comeback fight.
Its going to be tasty! Kennys well up for this Great little undercard aswell. If your a boxing fan you have to go to a show at the colne muni. Brilliant venue
I have repeated this ad nauseam and I will go on repeating it until it is acknowledged as such, but Colne Muni is the best venue to go to watch boxing ANYWHERE in the world. Granted I have yet to go the legendary Blue Horizon in Philly or some other noted venues so I should cavaet my statement by saying that its the best place to watch boxing that I have been to. I urge anyone that has never been to make their way down. Cant wait and I will be up. :good
Has anyone got any pics of the inside of Colne so i might get an idea? I will get to it at some point because its not too far from me. I just don't have a car at the moment :-(
Wow that is intimate! Looks like you could reach put and touch the boxers from that balcony. My only concern is that it seems like a bit of a small venue must hold less than a thousand :think Cant be to cost effective for VIP who often put on big shows (int terms of number of fights)
As I have always said, Degales BIG mistake is thinking that cos Ando hurt Groves that hes going to do the same. Kenny Anderson has natural power, hes a freak of nature, & thats that. You have all been warned.
Nice fight!! Groves got Anderson at the right time, not too much notice and weight to lose, a 100% Anderson would beat Groves i.m.o. Thia fight is a good come back fight for Kenny. Go on the big man!!!
i just hope kenny has addressed his stamina issues. that was the most noticable thing in the groves fight. i don't buy into the short notice and had to lose too much weight, he didn't have to take the fight but did because he thought he could beat groves.
