Why does it always come down to this. The promoter(who I have no love with)signs the upcoming fighter, makes him wealthy beyond any hope and now is the bad guy.To be sure the promoter made a contract which favours himself, but after rewarding the fighter why does he not deserve a 3 fight option at the end.Kessler didn't have to sign, there are plenty of other promoters who would have signed him-OR at the time maybe not.Palle is a piece of ****,granted, but don't blame him,it was kessler who entered the agreement, which is binding world wide, with his eyes wide open.

Palle was the only option for Danish fighters at the time Kessler signed with him. Bear in mind that money isn't everything. Kessler want's the big fights in USA and Palle most likely want to cash out on Kessler and make him fight nobodies in Denmark and Germany.

The reason money isn't everything is due to the fact that like him or not,Palle made Kessler(and himself) a **** load of dough.By the way, what is wrong in cashing out on an investment?Just asking.

Palle wants Kessler to fight Mads Larsen in Denmark, because that fight appeals to many Danes, and would generate alot of money. Kessler says he has other plans, he wants to fight in the US of A. So there probably is a difference in priority of the two parts, Palle's first priority is money - here and now, as he knows Kessler might leave him sometime, Kessler's is the big name fights that will give him more exposure, and then maybe later the money. Just a thought though.

a lot of boxers have been cutting out the middle man lately.
to be fair you only need one at the start of your career .as soon as you have made a name for yourself you are better off on your own.
he can fight who he likes when he likes now and no excuses for not getting good fights.

3 fight contract? sweet, no problem.

That would actually, at least in the third fight, force Palle to throw Kessler to the lions, to earn a little farewell money, which is kinda´what he wants.

    Well unless he ****s up...........................

I agree that Palle have done some great things for kessler,But everything is worthless without a guy who WINS.Witch kessler has done pretty good.
And now all the mandatory circus is over,So NOW Mr.Palle´s ONLY job is to manage a BIG fight for he´s WBA-SMW cham. now...HE NEED THAT FIGHT NOW!
Mike Marley and Mogens Palle should land that fight for Kessler,or Let Another promoter who CAN make kessler fight, take over!!!!!

I´M SICK OF LISTEN TO MOGENS PALLE,AND ALL HE´S BULL****!!!
GIVE YOUR ONLY WBA CHAMP A TOP FIGHT...OR LET OTHERS HANDLE KESSLERS MANAGEMENT.

There are plenty of fighters who have broken away from their promoters while still under some sort of contract. Calzaghe, and Hatton being two recent examples (broke from someone more powerful then Palle as well). This whole thing is starting to sound like excuses for more lame fights to me... Kessler knows he is going to get stick for fighting more tomato cans, so hey lets all blame the big bad promoter... if he wants away that bad he can do it...

    I don't know the legal constraints either.:D

...but there are plenty of fighters who have broken away from their promoters while under contract.

I'm wondering that too. Is that not something like what Calz and Warren are going thru?

All depends of the contract...and the promoter. If he doesn't want to go to court and settles down, the fighter is ok. But Palle has proven in the past he goes to war when a fighter wants to split with him. Read the above posts: Mads Larsen's career has been ruined because of that.
