Kessler should win pretty easily against Froch but its clear he is past his prime. just look at his fight against Lucas, speed, defense, confidence, power he got it all.

I don't agree on this. For a start what proof or even hint of suspicion is there to believe Ward was juicing? They could have fought that fight 100 times and Ward's skill and speed would have had Kessler in knots 99 times - head butts or not.

It was the same against Calzaghe, once Kessler got figured out Calzaghe cruised away into the distance.

Kessler allowed himself to waste his best years with contract disputes and now he's trying to recapture his prime. Unfortunately, when he should have been going after the big fights and taking advantage of his name after the Calzaghe fight, he sat back and did nothing. All you need to know about Kessler is he's become more famous for his losses than his victories. And more famous for wasting his own time and not taking advantage of opportunities when he had them.

Having said that, I was impressed with the way he managed to climb to the top of everybody's SMW rankings based on 'reputation' alone. That was a great piece of subtle and understated hype management.

Kessler is way over rated in these forums but the more I watch the guy the more I want to root for him, a great person.

There's something wrong if Kessler doesn't beat Froch, I like Froch but Kessler is all wrong for him. Ward is a ***** just like all of his fans and maybe the butts did or didn;t affect the outcome, but one thing's for sure, they were intentional.

    Q:
"For a start what proof or even hint of suspicion is there to believe Ward was juicing?"

A: Victor Conte. (Ward works with Dr. Conte. Go check Conte and you might agree more.)

    Statement:
"It was the same against Calzaghe, once Kessler got figured out Calzaghe cruised away into the distance."

Have you actually watched the fight? As I recall it Kessler was swinging for his life in the last round, trying hard to take JC out.

Finally. It wasn't Kessler's decision to sit idle for almost 2 years. He was part of it. Personally, I believe the time away from Top boxing is what causes Kessler present problems in terms of speed and trigger time and timing. The Sartison. Perdomo and Ward fights were not performances that displayed any of the talent that brought Kess to the top of the division.

A loss to Froch would probably be a nail in the coffin of Kessler's chances at the top level, but he doesn't seem the kind of guy who would squelch on his obligations to see through at least the entire three rounds of the Group Stage.

Pascal and Taylor should've been beating Froch too, but I think we can learn one thing from that. Froch is effective no matter what he looks like. So, maybe he beats Kessler too.

Froch is like a snapping turtle.

If you run around and kick at it, you will eventually kill the turtle (unless you kick like a little girl). If you lie on your belly in front of it and try to slap at it from that position, it will eat your face.

He's potentially dangerous, if you allow him to be (through ******ation or physical inability to run around and kick at him).

Kessler isn't the most brilliant or adaptable fighter as shown against both Calzaghe and Ward, but he's got more brains in his tattoos than Froch has in his skull. He won't be making mistakes, as he's technically the superior with a bullet. If Froch catches him, it'll be because Mikkel's reflexes (or lack thereof) allow it.

I'd say there's substance to the "If Kessler loses it's more because he's cooked than because Froch's great" theory.

If Kessler allows Froch to get past the 8th round, he should apologize and immediately retire. MK has every advantage in this fight. If he cannot, or simply does not, use those advantages, he's probably shot.
