No, but I can't see his resume justify being in the top 10 after two defeats - not forgetting all his other defeats. He is great offensively, and has great technique, but his defensive skills leaves something to be desired. H2H - Kessler takes this by a mile.
Hatton easily rates above Kessler in the p4p lists but nobody has him in there top ten. Just going by that Kessler is never top ten at the moment.
By outclassing anyone willing to fight him(7 WCs- or former ditto), and only losing to the top 3 guy on foreign soil with 60k screaming Welshmen?
No, why would he be? He hasn't beaten anyone worthwhile since Tszyu. A shady win over Collazo substracts as well.
Hatton has beaten two Ring magazine top ten P4p fighters, he has won more fights then Kessler, he is a two weight champ(which Kessler isn't), and has beaten more contenders and champions then Kessler. He has also fought in the states and won. Now tell me what Kessler has done that Hatton hasn't?
Ring magazine is utter crap; it's biased beyond belief. I give it no credit what so ever. I was only counting ABCs champs, not idiocy belts.
Can't answer can you. If you stick Kessler in a P4P top ten you have to put Hatton above him, simple as that! Adios.
Hatton has ABC belts in both weightclasses...it is Calzaghe who has an 'idiocy belt' at 175. :huh Anyway I am with JonOli, Hatton rates over Kessler for me, though both guys have been exposed when stepping up against P4P comp. Hatton however did a number on a fellow P4P great in old but still dangerous Kostya Tszyu, and has a better overall resume.
Boxrec's unbiased computer has Hatton at #10 P4P and Kessler outside the top 25 P4P, which is close to where I rank them (think I had Hatton at 15 though). :good
Kessler has fought in Australia and won in his first title defense against the no. 3 SMW Mundine. Now tell me what Hatton has done other than beating an old and two year off Tszyu? Beating Collazo? Who hadn't been in the ring with anyone, and got a free belt? Kessler has also beaten several undefeated fighters, some of which were mandatories/top rank fighters. Hatton has only faced one - and he lost.
He was refering the the belts his opponents had or have had - not Hatton himself. He did a no. on a guy who hadn't boxed in 2 years, and was getting old. I don't agree with the resume, but you are entitled to your opinion.
