    Truly spoken!

Lacy was schooled by Joe.The same cant be said about Kessler who lost fair and square but who had his moments and could hold his own against Joe.
I for my part would always bet my money on Kessler in a fight against the one-dimensional Lacy who got a gift decision in one of his last fights against Tsypko.

you call kessler only legitimately winning 2 rounds hands down as not being schooled? He almost was floored in the 8th round if the ref wouldn't have stepped in, the same fate as lacy.

Hey Martini... Over half of the posters in here had Calzaghe as their pick for this fight go check the poll. You are entitled to your opinion on Kessler, but I think your deadwrong in your assesment here. Kessler will be back he's a mentally well balanced fighter.

On a sidenote this thread is really pointless since we cannot rule Kessler as neither a spectacular fighter or an overrated fighter before he has a chance to prove himself in the next couple of fights...

This thread is plain stupid. If you truely love boxing - then you truely love great matchups. To revitalise boxing as a sport - expect your favorite boxers 0 to go!!!!
Imagine the best fighting the best more often, just like 07 - Dont hate respect Kessler, respect Taylor and respect Hatton come dec. 8!

Okay, I have stated that I wouldn´t use kessler´s hand injury as an excuse - but you make things a little difficult for me........:D

See this is where you guys slightly miss. It has nothing to do with being born in America, as it does fighting the best for everyone (Americans included) to see. It takes no poll to see many Americans love Barrera, Pac, JMM, Sam Peter, Klitschko, Miranda, Lennox, etc.. pretty much anybody that doesn't hole themselves up and say "**** America, we don't care or need them" until WORLD WIDE recognition becomes a factor.

P.S.- Joe Calzaghe is one of the best fighters I've ever seen.:p

Almost though mate aint good enough is it,and the ref did not save him at all,he gave it his all,hes youngish he will come on again,he caught joe a few very heavy shots, that troubled him a lot,i respect the fact that joe can sure take a punch, and i never really was or am a fan,and i aint gonna now jump in and pretend i am,i like and respect him,by am not a fan.

Comparing Kelly to Joe...then yes! I agree...but pavilk is similar to Kessler in terms of their level at this stage in both fighters career. Joe is a special talent and has a tremendous amount of skill. I've stated this before....there are GOOD fighters....and there are GREAT fighters and Kelly is still considered in the "Good" category along with Mikkel. Joe is on anther plateau.

I think A Kessler vs Pavilk fight would be very interesting. To say Kelly gets beat is jumping the gun. Pavlik has more skills than Kessler and uses a wider variety of punches in his fights. The combinations of Kelly vs Kessler is clearly in favor of Pavlik. I'd actually lean towards Kelly to beat Kessler at 168. Why? The better overall boxer with a more indepth skillset is Kelly. Power is questionable but I'd have to go with Kessler only b/c he is bigger and both men have power. I think this would be a GREAT fight to make. People should be pushing for this fight.

With the experience he gained from fighting Calzaghe, Kessler is now a better boxer.

He was a B- before Joe... I can see him topping out at a B+ in the future.
