I haven't labelled anyone anything. I believe you are referring to the poster you replied to before. That wasn't me. And Taylor didn't 'run into the Hopkins fight'. Eastman got made mandatory contender and got the fight against Hopkins after Taylor pulled out of the elimination fight.
We couldn't agree more on the fact, that Abraham got more reputation for the Miranda smackdown than Kessler got for the belt. Fact is that Team Palle made a bad deal about the WBA-belt. They tried to get the icecream first (Sartison and the belt) but didn't want to eat their cabbage (Häussler) afterwards.... And the biggest problem for Kessler right now is the fact that he is the only Golden Boy at Team Palle, so they won't risk anything unless they absolutely have to....
First of all. Every thing you stated about Miranda is the truth. Even Hermit will agree. Palle f... it up big time though. As stated earlier, Kessler should go to US and beat the first US-fighter who cross his way. Has to be the first fight in 2009.
it would be a paradox if the fights kessler wants (big ones) are the ones i'm talking about. he has to earn it. i'm going to repeat myself again for all those people who haven't read my previous posts...all of them..... favourite euro fighter who actually had the balls to take his career into his own hands and make the fight he wanted happen.... ricky hatton. would he ever have got a fight with floyd mayweather if he didnt cross the pond and fight those 3 fights he did against guys with a solid US and-or hispanic fanbase? or course not. and why do you think his fans arent crying "no-one wants to fight him...boo-hoo! he's too dangerous...." because he took a chance to find out how good he was and made it happen. you tell me why kessler can't do the same thing, starting on lesser tier fighters and work his way up?
The boxing community disagrees with you. The only reason he hasn't already beaten the guys you mention is because when Kessler was clearing up (pre Calzaghe) they weren't in his weight (Taylor) or weren't in his league. Thats why he was gunning 4 Calzaghe.
thats exactly right. well done. some of these other guys seem to think i'm anti-kessler but that couldn't be further from the truth.
The fact that Hatton wasn't the top guy in the division meant he had to go for that fight. With Kessler being ranked number 1, Jermain Tayloe should be breaking his balls to fight Kessler. But he wants no part of him.. Taylor should be doing this to get his reputation back. Number 1 SMW has to go out of his way and fight bum americans just to get a fight at someone ranked lower than him? Bull****.
you said taylor "ran away" from a eastman fight. that's what i mean about being disrespectful. one of my pet hates is boxum forum posters disrespecting fighters dismissively like this.
My post was not specifically directed at you, but at the misconceptions about Kesslers Post-Calzaghe shenanigans. One can agree or disagree with the actions of Team Palle, but the facts should at least be straight. Another problem is that people here tends to view Kessler and Palle as joined at the hip in terms of goals. Kessler has a very specific athletic goal. Palle has a very specific economical goal. The fans would prefer Kesslers goals, but his career decisions has to be made in unison with Palle....
Im telling you guys, there is not a clear #1 in the division. Calzaghe left the division up for grabs and the #1 position hasnt been claimed yet. Just because you Kesslerites want to believe that your guy is the best smw in the world doesnt mean that the rest of the world believes that. He has to beat the other top fighters in teh division to stake that claim. JT doesnt need Kessler. If he beats Froch and takes his belt, or say Bute and takes his belt he will move ahead of Kessler. Right now, the top guys are all even. I do want to see JT mix it up with Kessler though, but he doesnt have to fight him to be the top guy.
when hatton beat kostya tszyu that put him in a prime position and he had a much higher rep than kessler did after losing to calzaghe, the only top fighter he's fought - and he lost that one. you can talk about "belts" and "rankings" all you like, but it's very naaive to think that a guy like taylor, the former undisputed - let me say that word again for you, UNDISPUTED - middleweight champion of the world who had to beat bernard hopkins...twice.....should be "bending over backwards" to fight a belt kessler won off sartisan ! do you know what a circus boxing is with these 'belts'? or can you understand guys like taylor and hatton get RESPECT from beating the guys they did and how they did it? kessler still hasn't beaten anyone and those he has beat have been in copenhagen....
Taylor pulled out of the fight after losing the purse bid, sacrificing his chance for a shot at Hopkins at that point. Describing that as 'running away' isn't disrespectful, it's downright bloody factual!
I disagree. I think Taylor needs to fight Kessler to be considered number 1. Forgetting resume, going strictly of skillset Kessler is the best the division has to offer. Let Taylor go and beat Froch and Bute, but if he aviods Kessler it is unforgivable.
