Danish paper BT today reports that Team Sauerland has offered Robert Stieglitz a fight in June in Denmark against Mikkel Kessler.

Stieglitz is WBO champion and if the fight gets made and Kessler wins it sets the stage for a triple unification (WBC-WBA and WBO) when Kessler exercises his right as WBC emeritus champion.

I think this would be an excellent comeback fight for Kessler. Stieglitz is hittable and not as elusive as Calzaghe and Ward. He is also tough which makes for an entertaining fight.

Just as long as he doesn't look down.

Yeah. I also fear that Kessler will come back regardless of him having recovered from the injury or not.

Good match-up ... for Kessler. I don´t see Stieglitz´s chances of getting Kessler´s scalp very high. We´ll see if Stieglitz is willing to take this fight (he hasn´t answered yet).

Good to have Wiking Warrior back in action.

Good this way we get rid of paper titlist Stieglitz.

Kesler will probably later unify with Super six winner

Good news . . . if he wins, a crack at the super six champ.

That could be a good fight. Stieglitz is average but tough and always tries his best.

Quite a step up for Robert, he will get dominated by Kessler.
But if Kessler still has double sight he might be in for a tough night, fighting against 2 Stieglitzes :deal

I just hope that he has as much sense to realise that if his sight isn't 100% healed by march, he shouldn't try and get a fight. In fact he should probably just retire.

    Am hoping though!

I'm thinking Kessler will return. All indications point in that direction. It doesnt matter if he is fully recovered or not. He'll continue regardless I think.

I doubt that SES will agree to this offer. They are quite happy with Stieglitz selling out crowds at Magdeburg.

    Agreed.

Besides, Kessler should focus on fighting guys taller than him now, so he doesn't have to look down ;)

He better have a offer around 1 mil $ , to have a chance of making the fight.

These eye injuries never recover fully but most boxers go on regardless, losing 10% to 50% sight.
