I'll reserve judgment until Kessler's next opponent's announced. Either way, he needs to get himself to America.
Yeah, we have known that Kessler likes what Joe has done, and what Hopkins has done - and he finds it ridiculous to jump up a division if the fighter is not undisputd at his own weight. Before fighting Joe, Kessler said that he may go up to LHW if he won the fight. He didnt so now a long road of difficult fights are ahead of him to try to unify and become undisputed. Dawson is a nobody to go anywhere for. Let Dawson try to make a name for himself first. They will surely meet if either Chad can make 168 (which he should if he thinks he can beat Kessler because then he can become the best at a division, something he has never been. Or if Kessler unifies and Chad unifies - then the fight will be huge. Now, it is a small and strange fight to take. A fight that Joe, Hopkins wouldn't even have considered when they were trying to unify their divisions.
He is still considered the man to beat at 168. So if Jermain wants to be the man he hs to get in the ring with Mikkel and take it. As simple as that.
Hopkins is a legend. Joe and Bernard did not go up during their time when they wanted to unify. However, they may have gone up if a legend was calling, we dont know. For sure they would not have gone up if the 3rd best at the division up was calling. Then they would have rolled their eyes.
First Joe Cal ducks Dawson, now Kessler...disgracelful Euro Champs That's y I love the Road Warrior! Anybody, anytime, anywhere!
So now Joe never fought bums? Wow, those are new tones from you. Sounds like you will say whatever is convenient at the time, huh?
Its REALLY simple: Kessler will meet ANYONE. ANYONE who can make 168. IF Dawson can make 168, then fine. Let this no. 3 at LHW. get in line and we will surely have the fight. If Haye can make 168, then fine - we will have that fight too. However, if they cannot then they need to shut up and concentrate on their own things first. Kessler's goal is to be dominant at 168. There is A LOT of unfinished business at 168: Bute is a great technician and bigger than Kessler. If his chin holds he could possibly beat Kessler. Taylor is unbeaten and proven champion. Only Pavlik has Taylor name. Taylor obviously will get solid US media support to try to become two division champion and not only that but to become undisputed at 168. He will have to get past Kessler though. Froch believes he is better than Calzaghe. Froch is probably the most powerful fighter at 168 and he is undefeated. Ward and Direll is about one year away from making a big splash at 168. Very exciting future at 168. Why - again - why - on earth would Kessler even consider doing something that Hopkins and Joe never did (moving up before they unified) for a 3. ranked fighter who just got what many see as a gift decision against an old Johnson? It would make no sense. Let Dawson do his thing, but frankly Kessler has far more exciting things to do at his division.
