Anybody that thinks Lucian Bute outjabs Kessler is bat**** crazy. Bute's jab is not really impressive. He doesn't use it as consistently, its not hard, and more often than not I get the impression he's using it as a range finder for the straight left.

After the smoke cleared, all that could be seen were Kesslerites standing, and Butecians laying beaten to a pulp. Could this be a prophecy?

I share the laughter guys, but for a different reason. I can't stop laughing because all you boxing connaisseurs think Bute as so much flaws on defense, keeps his hands low, stops attacking when he could finish his guy, as a slow jab, lacks power etc.

In his first 15 fights, Bute had 15 ko's, then his trainer Larouche, quit a clever man, said to Lucian that he needed rounds to gain more experience. That's why he kept Joppy and Berrio on their feet and was pulling away not to finish them early. The level of competition he faced against those two didn't demand the full Bute package. To me, it's like leaving you gun in your pocket and still have the edge because you don't need the gun. So, if you wonder why he acts that way, It's just to keep his tools for when he will need them.

You will understand what I mean when Andrade will be down for the count after flurries of hits to the body. Because we all know Andrade as an iron chin, and he will try to pressure Bute. So counterpunching in the ribs and liver will do the job just fine.

As far as power and speed, Bute is head to head with Kessler, and if things go as plan, they have to meet in 2009. Then, you guys will have all the time in the world to compare styles, but to me if Bika gave JC a harder time then he did Bute, and if JC was to much for Kessler, then Bute should be a nightmare to MK.

Because from now on, the higher level of competition will make Bute box in a more destructive manner, and that's not good news for you Kessler fans.

    Peace ! :rasta

    1) This is why we are the connaisseurs, and you are not. (your own words).
    2) That man must be an idiot for trying to hold Bute back against a great puncher in Berrio in a title fight. Does he hate his own fighter?
    3) Looking forward to see flurries from Bute, it must be a new side of his boxing. Have you seen this in the gym, or just in your dream?
    4) There is more to boxing than speed and power. First of all you can't compare things like that. A beating B with difficulty, and C beating B easier, doesn't mean C beats A. Furthermore, Calzaghe won more clearly on pts. Moreover, Calzaghe is hot and cold, and tries to brawl with lesser fighters in particular - one of the worst fights JC have had.
    5) I am looking forward to this new terminator. It would excite me, but I need to see it first.

does this mean it was a part of his plan to lose the first 3 or 4 rounds to bika..? to gain experience in throwing rounds away or what..?

If you're talking about Calzaghe - Bika and Bute - Bika, then you are wrong about that.

    Calzaghe - Bika
judge: Jose Rivera 110-117 | judge: John Lawson 110-117 | judge: Phil Edwards 111-116

    Bute-Bika
Richard DeCarufel 111-116 | judge: William James 109-118 | judge: George Hill 109-118

But Fightfan of Mtl's post was ridiculous, so let's not waste time arguing about it between ourselves.

Friend, you're right, Bute ain't much to write home about, but no matter how many jokes you make about him, it won't change the fact that your boy lost to a 35 year-old Calzaghe. So carry on talking that feller Bute down and carry on hoping that Andrade beats him or makes him look bad, because that's your cue for talking your boy up, as he sure didn't look great against that feller Sartison.

IMHO, Kessler looked his usual self vs Sartison. It's just that Sartison was very unknown and did much better then expected.

Fact that he was unknown and did better than some people expected doesn't change the fact Kessler was getting tagged all night and even hurt by a guy who isn't a puncher. Way I figure is, Kessler's worse than before. Yeah, sure, he's better than Bute, but that ain't too hard. I liked me the way Kessler was throwing those hooks though. They'll do a fine job against a feller like Bute who gets hit a lot, and I mean, A LOT!

I am beginning to think that is what happened. I think our psychies cannot really keep up with pre-event expectations.
