He had a back injury against Mundine - he was far from his best.. He was under constant pressure against Andrade and still threw over 800 shots.

Kessler strikes me a bit as Jameel McCline with his punching power. I THINK he has enough of it to KO anyone...but he seems timid when it comes to releasing it.

He throws punches in bunches that are sharp and accurate enough to do the damage and since Edison isn't exactly a defensive dynamo, this should be the underlying story of the fight.

Kessler is a very cautious fighter with good power, but I am worried by his inability to sustain a high work rate against Calzaghe. He had the ability to dominate Calzaghe for 12 rounds but seem to run out of gas and his morale lowered when he realised that his best shots did not finish JC.

What's up with all this calling him cautious?? he is surdenly not.. he looked cautious against Calzaghe, but most do.. Watch other fights of him, his workrate is high and he is very agressive.

Mikkel had his best single round ever against Mundine. Can't place the exact one, as it's been awhile since I've seen it. But god damn...nearly three full minutes of offensive mastery...

Well, that could be the key right there. Pavlik said Miranda doesn't like to fight backing up. So, who can stand their ground?

IF Kessler can't back him up and dictate the pace, would that be an indication that Pavlik would do better against Kessler than most folks seem to think?

Is this fight an eliminator ? I hope that the WBC will sanction this as a final eliminator, and then when Calzaghe vacates his titles the winner here will face the winner of Froch-Inkin for the WBC title. That would be great for the division.

I think Kesslers going to be pretty conservative and fight off the back foot in this fight, a bit dangerous since he'll be giving Miranda plenty of room to come forward with his punches, something Pavlik was able to neutralise by pushing forward. Should be a more difficult fight, but i'll take Mikkel on points.

Kessler will likely beat on Miranda like he did Andrade. But I see Miranda as a more dangerous and aggressive puncher than Andrade was.

    Kessler to Win:
Needs to outbox Miranda which shouldn't be that hard for him. Cannot take a reserved fight pace like he did against Calzaghe or risk Miranda beating him by sheer aggression like he did against Green. Keep up a strong defense to keep Miranda from landing a lucky punch.

    Miranda to Win:
Forego defense. Miranda's chances of outboxing Kessler are roughly equal to the chance of Kessler having a stroke sometime during the fight. He'll need to outfight him. Use aggression to prevent Kessler from making this a boxing match and keep it a slugfest. Take a punch (probably two or three) to give a punch and make that one punch count. If Miranda can hurt Kessler than he has a good chance of winning.

    Who I think will win:
Kessler. After Abraham and Pavlik Miranda's strengths and weaknesses have been exposed and Kessler has the skills and ring intelligence to take that knowledge and use it to win.
