I agree with most of the posters here. Kesslers stamina is definitely better than ever. He looked very fresh between rounds, and he was obviously the stronger man. His fitness is probably better than ever, but his hand- and foot speed looked slower than in the Andrade and Calzaghe fights. Sartison was moving well and he is a counterpuncher with good precision in his punches, but Kessler got tagged unnecessarily, and his defense didn't look as tight as usual. His timing has imo always been world class and his best attribute as a boxer, and here it looked a bit off. Kessler also moved straight back too much, which he also commented on in the interview afterwards. These things might have something to do with the layoff and Montoya adding to his repertoire - he threw more bodypunches than I've ever seen him do, and he kept looking for uppercuts. I also wanted him to put more combinations together, but the very mobile Sartison made that difficult. I expected a very motivated Kessler to blow Sartisson out of the water, but all in all it was the usual dominating Kessler-performance - the only round I can give to Sartisson would be 7. Now I just hope that we wont have to wait too long for the next fight, and that it wont be the pointless execution of Danilo Häusler.:dead
I thought it was a tipical Kessler fight. Sartison did better then expected. Better then Andrade and Lucas did versus the same Kessler.
tffp du må lige frem i skoen og smid en pm med linket;-) as ive only seen the first 4 rounds, i will comment on those.. personally i was actually dissapointed with mikkel. eventhough we was winning, i would really like if he asserted himself earlier in the fight. he is ****ing big and physically strong, he could easely mix it up, just to prove a point, and let his opponent know, whats waiting for him. sartison didnt really respect mikkel´s jab in the start, so i really would have liked to him throw the right hook much more then he did. techically his jab worked very well, whne he threw it, but i was horrified by how, he kept the left hand hanging, after throwing the jab, it was beyond sloppy. ffs thats the first thing you learn in the gym, when instructed as to how, the jab is thrown. i thought that when sartison had energy, he was much much better then anticipated, feinting well, did good in hooking over kess left jab, and he was very well rounded. his biggest weakness was his guard, almost non existent. but his non existent guard, was being backed up by a real solid beard. i can easely see sartison recovering, and doing well in the smw div, hits reasonably hard, good movement and as said well rounded. as ive only seen the first 4-5 rounds due to a ****ed link, i will be back with another analasis.
Agreed! Sartison turned out to be a very nice positive surprise. He showed so much that with the right attitude and good coaching and better stamina he is a potential future top contender. What I liked particularly was the way in which he had clearly learned from watching the Kess-Calzaghe fight. Of course he lacked Calzaghe's awkwardness but is was the right tactics to use. Also, the fact that he was able to adopt the "Calzaghe style" shows that he has good ability to prepare and adjust himself to opponents. For those who say Kessler wasn't rocked in the first round, try to watch it from a different viewing angle. You should then be able to see that Kessler almost got his socks blown off. Looking forward to seeing more of Sartison in the future. :good An utter shame he had to experience the last three rounds, so unnecessary.
