Bute is flawed and fights cans, but Kessler is past it. It's a toss up. Both lose to Ward.

Bute is going to put a beating on Kessler. A cruel way for Kessler to end his career as a top fighter.

To me this seems a good match up. We still dont know if Bute can tough it out, as he was saved by the ref when he had to, and we dont know how much Kessler has left. We all assume that he is a spent force. But lets look at everything. In Kesslers last fight he beat undefeated Carl Froch, which is a better win than anything on Butes record. Kessler must now be in better health now, than he was when beating Froch, I pressume.
Its a good fight and both fighters deserve respect if it happens.
If Kessler wins, he will have a fantastic win resume and a whos who of the SMWs from his era on his resume. Then Kessler can fight the S6 winner.
If Bute wins, it will show that even though Kessler has a couple of losses and might not be what he was, that Bute can compete at the top level. Butes resume isnt as bad as people would like to believe and is overall better than Wards. Every common opponent that I have seen for Bute and Ward, Bute has looked the better fighter, though I dont think you can read too much in that.

Still, Great match up and one to look forward to. Hope it gets made

It is a great matchup. Kessler is tough as nails. bute a great tactician but not as tough as kessler. Bute a GREAT body puncher and kessler has shown signs of being susceptible to body punches. I like it.

I like th way you see the 2 possible outcomes for their resume, which would be good for both fighters. Too many posters are only on the downgrade side. :thumbsup

as someone above says; if bute can KO kessler then fair play.
kessler has rock solid cojones and has never been down (to my knowledge) and he's fought all the best guys in his weight class over the years......
i fear he may have given his last gutsy performance against froch (hope i'm wrong), but if he can pull it out one more time against lucian, i think he can out-muscle him and etch out a hard fought victory. bute has had it relatively easy in his last few fights and could be over confident, and this is where the viking can capitalise by pressuring bute all the way.

I'm not going to start hating on Bute, but lets be honest,he's never fought anybody of Kesslers calibre.Bute certainly looks the part when he's beating lesser opponents, but it remains to be seen whether he can compete with the top 168lber's.

Brinkley should had been stopped in the fifth round but the referee decided to give another chance to Brinkley. Magee went down, what, four times, it just prove that he's a tough ******* even if he doesn't have that much skillz for the level of Bute.

I think it's gonna be a close fight between Bute and Kessler until Bute KO him with a body shot.

Kessler will figure Bute out, unfortunately I can't pick a winner as Kessler will most likely get robbed by Canadian judges.
