You can give credit for defense when a fighter throws a 5 shot combination and hits with 0-1 punches. Like what Mayweather does. But not for anything from last night.

Froch missed wild at times because he threw wild shots from out of range. Your scoring Froch for missing rather than Kessler for defending. I didn't see anybody giving Froch credit for defence in the first fight but there giving it to Kessler in the 2nd!!!

118-110 is a bad scorecard, but so is 115-113 to Kessler. There was bad as each other.

There were 6 clear Froch rounds, 3 clear Kessler rounds, 3 open to interpretation.

think that had allot to do with the Froch jab early. When Kessler throws that jab to the body he loves he brings his head down and Froch would have his jab ready and would hit him. thats part of the reason why froch wasnt landing the jab as much from the 4th onwards.

I don't mean Jabbing to the body, i mean full blooded bombs to the body. He tried it afew times, and in my opinion Froch didn't like it! He let the referee mentally affect him and neglect body punching.

Max for Kessler 7-5 in favor of Froch, 8-4 is also possible but as a Kessler fan I think froch did enough tbh

Kessler seemed a little smaller than usual IMO

116-112 to froch for me, some of the rounds were very close but I think froch was landing with more hurtful punches. Good fight I enjoyed it.

Watching it again I basically agree with Lederman. 117-111, maybe 116-112. But a very comfortable Froch victory.

First time I've checked in and I'm surprised there's even a debate, Froch won easily for me.

And the rounds he won were very clear too, there must be at least 5 or 6 unarguable Froch rounds.

And aside from the round by round scoring, anyone with eyes could see who was bossing the majority of that fight.

There was a hook to the body in the 4th you could see Froch visably winch. Reckon it broke a rib. He stopped jabbinh after that as I think it was painful to throw the show. Lot of power from the jab comes fromt that side of the body.

  11. No way Kessler won

    Last night I had 115 113

Watched again today and had 116 112

Kessler was good at times, good footwork, jab to the body and sweet 3 punch combos but it was too sporadic

I gave Kessler 4,5,6,11 and last night gave him round 9 as well

My good man, I have never been much of a Groves fan due to being a fan of Kenny Anderson & the way he boxed against Degale etc! I have always gave Groves his props as a fighter though, the lad has natural talent.

However, I think hes looking better & better every fight, & last night his performance was flawless. A light went on in my head in that way you know you are looking at someone who just might be special(in a boxing sense) & on last nights performance I think he would give Degale a pasting in a rematch. He just seems to be progressing so quickly, whereas Froch? I thought him AND kessler were awful last night.

It made for a fun fight, but I just thought both guys were looking their age. I was certainly of the opinion the Groves of last night could have beaten either the Froch OR Kessler of last night. & I say that as someone who is no lover of St George, but as a boxing fan of many years.

    Froch clearly won.
Bellew lost the first fight in my opinion but won the rematch.

Groves wouldn't do well against Froch. Cleverly, maybe. Groves...no, I'm afraid not. His chin is not great, you're not going to see that against the Noe Gonzalez's of this world, or a middle aged Glencoffe, but make no mistake, he has to keep his chin out of trouble for the most part.

Groves is a talented kid offensively, his variety is right up there, maybe the best of any current British fighter. But I really don't think there is anything in his punches that will bother Froch greatly, and its similar to the Bute fight where neither Bute or Groves has great fundamental defensive skills under pressure and its a matter of time before they start getting hit by shots. Now, for Groves to actually reach the final bell nevermind win he has to be able to take them consistently because there is little chance he can completely dominate Froch like he is against these C level guys.
