Because he is a limited trash talking not backing up what he says brawler with cement in his feet that would make a 66 year old Muhammad Ali look fast.Plus he seems to had a knee injury but it hasquestion marks on it.
''Does lack'' is an understatement altough he has a good stiff powerful jab.But that is it.I have never seen a good fighter that slow on his feet ever.Trust me anybody with speed and some good footwork can take him out. Him and Bika would be a barn burner.
It probably would be. However, it's a big risk for a big reward. Even if he gets embarrassed he can just use the weight excuse and go back to 168. I don't think the Johnson fight is a winnable as you think. Johnson is not a draw and neither is Kessler outside of Denmark. That fight won't do much in terms of numbers. Kessler would get beat down against Dawson. At least against Hopkins he can hope that Hopkins gets old overnight.
More like a huge risk and little to no chance of a reward. That's how I see it. Hoping for him to get old is optimistic in the extreme. People have been hoping for that for about a decade now. Numbers maybe not. I wasn't really thinking in an economic way. If we're thinking economics, Larsen-Kessler is outstanding for no risk. I was thinking more in terms of names on a resume. Johnson looks pretty creditable as my fourth choice opponent. I don't think he'd get beat down at all. I'm sure he'd put up a very good fight, and if he could time some good right hands...its fight on. I tend to think Dawson would outpoint him clearly, but I don't believe Glen Johnson was any harder of a puncher, and he did some damage in there. There is a live chance Kessler can hurt him.
blah, blah, blah whats this guy waiting for? whats the management or whoever drives the train waiting for to step it up and take a chance? this guys career is boring the hell out of me and he coud be helping boxing. At the very least he could provide some excitement to our sport instead the guys on a milk run.
Well... If you had been watching the headlines lately then you would know that Kessler is in conflict with said management because: 1) They want him to fight Mads Larsen and he wants to fight any big name fighter in the USA. 2) They are doing a **** poor job promoting him. 3) Bettina Palle for some reason is both his manager and his promotor.
:thumbsup Not really Kessler's fault. He always made it clear the type of fights he wants. Unfortunately he's under contract, and it might do a lot of damage to his bank account to try and get out of it.
Yup and the sad thing is you know that Palle would not let Kessler go without damaging his career. We have seen multiple examples of this in the past with Mads Larsen, Rudy Markusen, Dennis Holbæk. Hopefully Palle is too fond of his cash cow and will allow get him the fights he wants in the US.
He just wants to get one over on his old friend Larsen :-( Sad old *******. I never thought Sauerland could be our saviour.
Hopefully: The Bute - Larsen fight will be announced inside the next few days. Larsen and Sauerland cant afford to wait any longer for a Kessler fight and then the rest of the fights will fall into place. Fears: Kessler will be left out alone in the cold. Kessler just went for a 3 week vacation in Thailand and at the same time tries to get a new promoter. Lots of problems ahead. The other contenders will probably fight in march, and i cant see Kessler in a fight some what earlier than in may. Then Kessler ones more will have a fight schedule different from all his opponents. Will 2009 be as bad as 2008?
