TV ratings are always available if you have a subscription to the data - but that won’t include digital buys these days so would be an undercount. If it’s in Ricky Hatton range then that’s a big hit.
If the goal is to turn Taylor into a ppv star that fight did him no favours at all. Would have left a bad taste in viewers mouths.
Since he keeps mentioning 500k, it sounds like that's the break-even point for the fight. £10m or so before revenue splits with Sky and so on, which (given Sky would have assumed the fight would cost them something in rights fees whether PPV or not), leaves a good fee for the boxers. Assume anything above 500k is upside split between various parties...
500k was the break even point I believe. Sky would have been estatic to get there as most thought it would do around 400k at this stage which is why Hearn stayed away. Few people outside of Sky have been told it did closer to 425-450k buys and those in Sky are reporting 500k+ buys. Sky will be happy enough as they use the PPV revenue to fund their boxing content on normal Sky. Shalom will be happy as he’s walked away managing to pay everyone involved.
i told you not the monster they made out ten year back it would have smashed a mill and sold out Wembley ya fell for a dud pantomime
