A Boxer's stock can rise in defeat but this generally occurs when the Boxer in question is an underdog, who performs way beyond anyone's expectations; making it a real contest. Khan was indeed an underdog but the action and result of his fight with Canelo was routine. There was nothing remarkable about it and Khan's performance does not remotely warrant a claim to it having surpassed expectations. As per usual, Khan is talking nonsense; pretending his career hasn't taken yet another devastating blow.
Khan went head to head for 18 minutes against canelo, and held his own for around 16 of these minutes, yet many are ripping his skills, saying he has fast hands, not everyone can be SRR. All u haters said he wouldn't last 3 minutes, proved u lot wrong. Khan lacks pop end of, its not his chin or defence, which neither are world class level that gets him into trouble, he lacks that pop to keep fighters from walking him down and taking a few to land their one. If he had canelos pop on punches do u think Peterson, Garcia, canelo, Algeri, Collazo, Diaz, would have adopted the same tactic as they all did, I doubt it myself. I've often wondered if Khan has hand problems, I remember the massive swelling after the Molina fight.
Same here. He actually looked good up to the KO. He was fighting far more relaxed and composed, not as jittery as usual. He just got careless, fell for a faint and got flattened by a man who weighed 175-180 that night. No shame should be had for Khan in taking the fight and putting up a good show until the inevitable. The only person who came out looking "bad" from this was Canelo for taking on Khan, getting outboxed for a bit and then taking 6 rounds to do what most thought he would do in 1-2.
Khan's stock rose higher than Canelo's did. People were expecting Khan to get KTFO. People were not expecting Canelo to look like a amateur missing shots by feet not inches. Canelo looked like a bully, picking on the smaller man, than acting tough by curing in the post fight interview. I will give he credit after the KO, he showed some class by seeing if Khan was OK.
Khan was never winning the fight, yeah he won rounds but Canelo let it go... Was just waiting for that mistake and then the envitable. But I give Khan credit for taking the fight, if all boxers had his heart then, boxing would be ten times more interesting and wouldn't be littered with what ifs.
