Its a not comparison of Khan's greatness or lack there of. Its discussion of whether he constantly fouled and ran i.e. whether pushing tactic is a blatant foul. Please stick to the subject bearing some relevancy to topic at hand.
People are blaming the ref simply because the HBO broadcatsers brainwashed them all night into believing the guy wasn't doing his job. I didn't have a problem with the shoving so much as I did with the constant pulling down of the head from Khan and all the clinching. Props to the ref for allowing Peterson to fight out of those half clinches and not breaking the action too early. Khan probably deserved the point deductions whether it was from the pushing or otherwise.
Khan is very very sloppy, unbelievable, May and Ali are simply not on his level when it comes to rough tactics :!:
Mayweather is a lot more subtle with his elbows than Khan. Those were very blatant. Idk if I woulda docked a point though.
He kind of did constantly foul and run. Still, his movement and hand speed did stymie Peterson for stretches and Khan did get some good licks in. The people insisting he got robbed or should have won wide enough that the point deductions didn't matter - they're just blind nut-huggers.
Khan is sloppy and crude in that regard agreed, but Ali blatantly held his opponents head down all the time. Mayweather literally pushes his opponents away. Roy Jones would also hold fighters head down. I think defensively, Khan tries to emulate fighters Ali, Manny and Mayweather instead of developing his own.
It was a very close fight. I have no problem with Peterson winning, even if you discount the point deduction.
wtf are you talking about? you absolute little idiot. Khan's nothing like Mayweather with his defense when did RJJ and Mayweather constantly put his opponents in a headlock? that was the most frustrating thing about the fight, Khan constantly putting Peterson in a headlock everytime he came close. annoying as ****.
I actually see some parallels between this fight and Dirrell-Froch. In each case I had the visiting fighter doing just enough to win on my card straight up but each made tactical errors as far as not ad******g to win on another man's home turf goes. Why these guys are still shocked when a hometown bias happens like it's the first time in the history of the damn sport is beyond me. If they wanted a ref style like Cortez in Mayweather-Hatton, hire Joe Cortez. Don't bring in an unknown guy who's probably going to let the home guy do as he pleases. If you do that anyways, you'd better adjust your gameplan to how he's calling the fight while it's happening instead of just complaining after the fact. Goes without saying that the biggest difference is that this is a fight worth watching again and it'd take at least one of my loved one's being held ransom for me to watch Froch-Dirrell again. And even then it's no guarantee.
Hey, get your own avatar bub! Just kidding... and yeah, Khan lost. He has no inside game and cheated like a gassed Lennox Lewis.
