I honestly think IBF are saving their belt for Zab. What annoys me from that article are three people who have hid under the rock. - IBF President Daryl Peoples hasn't yet looked into Lamont's medical records. But the IBF still is awaiting information from the Peterson camp, according to IBF Public Relations Director. -D.C. commission director, Scottie Irwin, also has yet to render a decision. - Team Peterson; silent as if they are mourning someone's passing away. Ontop of that they didn't attend the NSAC hearing. With all this said I feel abit bad; what will happen to Lamont and his family? He got like 800k for the first fight i think with Khan. Hopefully he's invested that properly.
Just been watching some Garcia fights In lots of his fights recently as 2010 he makes many mistakes which he shouldn't be for a 'counterpunching' 'solid' boxer He throws the laziest ass open uppercut ive ever seen Drops his left hand and and throws a no power uppercut. Type of punch which should get countered in KO fashion. I'm happy with my £80 bet.
Garcia, 24, is a an unbeaten Philly fighter who has developed nicely. There are still some rough edges to smooth out, but he’s done everything asked of him so far. He beat a lot of trial-horses and journeymen on his way up. His first recognizable foe was Ashley Theophane, the British contender. Garcia escaped with a close split decision. After a nice knockout over Mike Arnaoutis, he won a decision over former champion Nate Campbell. Garcia then won a split decision over Kendall Holt that should have been unanimous, leading up to a dominant decision over Erik Morales. Garcia looked good against Morales, but Khan represents a completely different level of opponent. Not taking anything away from Morales, as “El Terible” is a Hall of Famer for a reason. But those reasons do not include his run in this decade as a 140-pounder. He gave it a great go against Maidana, but Morales looked very spent against Garcia, who deserves credit for a good win. I’m not so sure his wins over Holt and Morales have put him in line to beat the best 140-pounder in the world, now that Tim Bradley is at welterweight. Khan is still only 25 and the things that had people so excited about him are still in place. It seemed like he had overlooked Peterson in his last fight. He went into his challenger’s hometown and Peterson needed a Rocky Balboa-like performance and help from a dingbat ref to pull off the win. And who knows what else? Khan is by far the sharper fighter. Talent is subjective, but I think it’s safe to say that Khan is the more gifted of the two fighters. As we know, it often does not boil down to sheer talent. A lot of other things come into play and that’s what Garcia is banking on. He will need to overcome the superior athleticism of Khan with ruggedness and doggedness. I like Garcia. In 2-3 years time, he could be “the man” in this weight class. He has developed nicely and when asked to take a step up in class, he answered the call. Now they’re asking him to take another leap up in class and I sense he will fall a bit flat. Khan can be inconsistent and the change in opponent here might have him a bit thrown. But coming off a loss, one should expect a focused Khan to go all-out to get some positive momentum going again in his career. http://www.proboxing-fans.com/amir-khan-vs-danny-garcia-fight-preview-prediction_062712/
:yep Garcia doesn't seem like a bad dude, but I see too many defensive liabilities and not enough offensive dynamics to cause Khan any trouble. That's not a bad bet there. I keep asking for people to show me his best performance and point out his greatest strengths (besides just being "well-rounded"), and so far I haven't been shown any. Then again, his fights aren't that accessible online.
Youre trying so hard to convince urself thar Khan is on some other level. His speed and power might be, but his chin and skills are average. Garcia is his kryptonite. A regular city kid who had to earn his way to the top, more boxing skills, chin and power. This will be up there with the many upsets of 2012. Believe it! :yep
Im the only one who made a thread of both fighters strengths and weaknesses. Garcia has better defense than Khan and is a natural counter-puncher. Khans wreckless ambush style with his inaccuracy will play into Garcias style. Peterson was able to get in through Khans guard with hooks and 'wide' looping shots. Garcia throws wide like that with a lot more power. If u can make Khan fight going backwards, then half the fight is won. Garcia has better footwork and pressures his man. Combine all of this with Garcias power and Khans questionable chin and u have a highly possible upset. I give Garcia more than 50% of winning this fight. He will go for the ko and i think he stops Khan late.
God I hope you're right. Your best argument is the wide shots and youre 100% right about it. As long has the 1/2/3 gets in and he backs Khan up he will win. Do you think he'll win if it goes to the judges though? Thats a major issue.
You have got to stop saying this bro. Theres only one fake PR in boxing and thats this ******: This content is protected
I think the judges will be fair. I dont see any reason to favor Khan and if it goes the distance im sure the rds will be split pretty even. Itll be close. Garcia doesnt look like he does anything special but he is very difficult to engage due to his counter punching and power. Even Morales gave him credit saying he had a difficult style. All he said about Maidana is that hes a dirty fighter so Erik tells it like it is. Danny has great balance, good footwork and underrated defense. He showed Morales too much respect which was a mistake but i believe he has every advantage over Khan other than speed and athleticism. Garcia isnt lying when he says he will time and outjab Khan. Garcia can punch with angles and use lateral movement and pivot to control the ring and avoid Khans wild flurries. The recipe for an upset is there and if Garcia brings his A game, then its good night Khan
He wasn't supposed to be working that night. Hatman is good friends with Barry Hunter and manages one of his Olympic hopeful fighters.
This shouldn't happen but I think Khan will get the nod if the fight goes the distance. His last fight was controversial so I think they'd want him to win this one?
