Agreed. I even think fighters such as Zab Judah, Chad Dawson, and Jean Pascal can match or exceed Khan's speed.
I reckon hes either got the fastest hands or shares it with only another 1 or 2 fighters. His footwork is average to good, and when under attack from more than 1 punch his footwork is none existant. He stands still and rides it out with his gloves up. Which is why Maidana enjoyed attempting about 5 million uppercuts.
Dawson and Pascal? No. Zab? Yes. In fact, Zab had superior handspeed in his prime. Meldrick Taylor possessed faster hands than all four of them (Khan included).
Khan is faster than Zab now, but not the Zab of earlier years. He was blazing fast, especially with that left uppercut and straight left.
I think Khan's hands are as fast as anyone else's in boxing. But footspeed?! You're kidding yourself. Pacquiao is far quicker in his movements around the ring when he wants/needs to be.
Fast hands but his footwork is very flawed. I'm not hating on him just speaking the truth. Khan is a great talent but a work in progress.
Khan has great handspeed. I don't know how great he is though and i feel his footspeed doesn't match his handspeed. His footspeed is just above what people call above average but below great. B+footspeed, C+ footwork, with grade A handspeed. Still not A+ handspeed IMO. Manny, Floyd, Dirrell, Gamboa are just an inch above khan IMO. All except gamboa have better footspeed. His footspeed is very similar to that of Sergio Martinez IMO whos footspeed I rate under the guys I named also.
No. Don't get me wrong. These athletes are still inferior regional grade professionals. And would lose to the tough eurotalents who dominate the sport. They simply have superior handspeed. They cannot duplicate the Euro-level style and fundamentals of the European professionals that I normally rank
This makes me think that you're new to sport. Good for boxing. Attracting new casual fan. Come to senses please. Khan is still working on his skills. Speed is nothing without Power. I'd rather to slap in face 2 times than hit by 1 solid punch.
