Oh that's an easy one. Cuban legend Mario Kindelan who isn't just an A + level fighter he's one of the greatest of all time. And Khan was still suckling on his momma's teet when he took Kindelan to Slick School which is no easy feat considering the mighty Cuban owned at least dozen slick schools of his own in his homeland. I remember watching that fight and at the time thinking Khan was on track for greatness. On reflection, I suspect it shows he's a great three-round fighter. My issues with Khan is his over reliance on speed and lack of ring IQ. The two matters are linked, as I suspect his otherworldly quickness of feet and hands, allowed him to keep bad habits (chin up while going back in straight lines, for example), because his speed papered over the cracks. But as that speed slowly diminished with age and inactivity, he flaws have been more readily exposed. As has his chin. I wish he'd been trained to mix up his rhythm too, so that his speed was a surprise element. Look at how many of his fights begin with opponents befuddled by the blur of leather before them. Eventually, top fighters catch on, adapt to his tempo and time him. Typically after 3-4 rounds. It's akin to getting in a car and accelerating to 80mph. At first you feel the speed but after a while it becomes the norm and you hardly sense its presence. If Khan had learned to slow things down.... lure fighters in and then change it back up, I think his speed would have remained relevant throughout his fights. That's low ring IQ in a nutshell. Look, I admire his willingness to get in the ring with the likes of Canelo and Crawford, and Bud vs prime Khan would have been a barn burner. Maybe it still will be, but in chasing Mayweather he traded out three years of his career for a fight which never got made. And I don't think he has ever really recovered from this hiatus. In his last fight, a physical decline was clearly evident and, unless that was due to a lack of motivation for a fight he thought he couldn't lose, a replication of that diminished conditioning, an even weaker chin because of this and slight drop in speed from his very best days, is not an equation which concludes well for him on April 20. His matrix is going to be conclusively solved, I suspect....
A Papachenko trained Khan would've been almost unbeatable. I mean a prime Khan under Papachenko's tutelage as in the pre-savage HL reel Clenbuterol bomb from 190lb Clenelo with a cracked chin Khan. I feel that his sex-addition, marital problems and philandering ways took a huge toll on his career as well. But beating Kindelan whilst still in nappies (or diapers for out cousins across the pond), paddling Floyd and Broner's daddy Maidana's ass whilst the later was wearing his puncher's gloves, and taking the much bigger and juiced to high heaven Clenelo to Slick School for 5 rounds prior to Clenelo's PEDs coming to his rescue is ample proof of Khan's god given natural talent as Kindelan is an A + level fighter, Clenelo is also A + with the addition of his enhancements and Maidana was robbed x 2 against the A + level 'TBE' Prime Khan would crack Crawford's chin IMO, Khan is faster and bigger than leprechauns GRJ and Gamboa and Crawford is 1-1 against them and very easily could be 0-2 had Gamboa just had a couple more pounds of weight behind that right hand that sent Crawford's brain into another dimension for at least 60 seconds. No Khan is shot to bits now unfortunately and Crawford will get him out of there.
“If I beat Crawford, and I firmly believe I can, that probably kills the Brook fight.” Sounds like Khan has found a new kind of motivator.
I quote you too, so that we can see the day after the fight how's laughing and who doesnt know **** about boxing.
WAR KHAN Khan will ice him for 5 rounds Then he'll slow, Crawford will have adapted then Khan needs to pull off the performances of his life to make it through and survive If Khan's pulls out every inch of a his micro ***** he might just do it otherwise...meh...He is war torn, Crawford is not, you will see it in his legs alone.
Khan fans sound as delusional as the Garcia fans. Khan's chin up, move back in a straight line style isn't going to cut it at the elite level. Not in his age, not after so many templates. He's so open to counter shots when he throws. Crawford is going to have a field day after 4 rounds.
