Khan's stock has plummeted drastically on here, it's almost laughable. From what you read off some people, you'd think he was the worst boxer in the world. The ESB hyperbole is at it's best with Khan. Case in point; Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Judah etc. He's not been horrendous in every fight you know... Anyway regarding a potential Brook-Khan fight, I have always favoured Amir. We saw quite clearly in the Jones fight how Brook is a long way from the finished article and although Khan has plenty of his own faults, I also think he has more to worry Brook. The main punch for Kell is that jab but I think Khan can negate it with his speed. Brook has held the advantage in that department vs pretty much all his opponents and that really helps him to assert himself and his combinations behind his jab. But vs. Khan, he wouldn't have that luxury and Khan's quick in & out flurries could be effective. Knowing prior too that his opponent's jab is better might be useful too for Khan in terms of neglecting his own a bit more, because in truth I think his jab is overrated. Even though him and Amir couldn't be any more different, Jones did show how naive and flustered Brook can get when the fight's not going his way. I don't think he even knows what his true style is. He's a good counter puncher and usually I'd favour that over just speed alone but I don't think he's a great fighter on the back foot to really take advantage of that. Khan's experience and speed are key for me here. I don't think Brook is that powerful a puncher at world level and I see it going twelve but with Khan taking it on points
Well, he dropped Miguel Vasquez (Current LW title holder) with a jab, he really put a beating on Alvarado for 6 rounds. Obviously, I can't tell you what his power is like but for Alvarado to say he's the hardest puncher and McCloskey to get his nose broken and Khan to get brutally knocked out does not make you a light puncher now, does it? Whether people think Khan has a mandible of glass or not, a light puncher wouldn't clear you out the way he did.
To be fair, N'dou has a great chin - as evident by him never being stopped. Hatton is also pretty tough - he went the distance with a solid 154-pounder in Canelo. And Jones himself seems like he can take a good punch. So no shame in not being able to stop any of them. I will add, though, that in each of those fights, there were occassions where Brook had each of them stunned/hurt - something I'm willing to bet a Garcia or Prescott would never be able to do. So I maintain that Brook has the sufficient power required to put Khan to sleep. As for him fading, yes, that is an issue. But it's an issue Khan's familiar with, too :hey. And honestly, if Khan remains the same fighter we see of him now, then I have no doubts that Brook will time him repeatedly. That doesn't bode well for Khan considering he'll already have the disadvantage of being the smaller guy.
Sorry I should have been clearer. I wasn't suggesting he wasn't a powerful puncher I was suggesting his power is similar to Kell's, and I'd suggest Brook at WW punches at least as hard as Prescott does at LW. The same possibly applies to Garcia, although I'll have to see Garcia a couple more times to confirm that in my mind.
The Kotelnyk one I definitely agree with, he actually looked quite sound, technically. Against Malinaggi his main asset was his jab, he still lunged in on occasions but Malinaggi couldn't capitalize, good performance by Amir. Against Judah Khan was lunging in off balance a lot of the time, If Judah actually attempted to counter Khan he could have been competitive.
You don't believe Garcia or Prescott have the ability to hurt or stun N'dou, Hatton or Jones? :think Quite surprised about that. I believe they can do that and more. Prescott's jab alone would probably do damage to Hatton and I can definitely see them both putting it on Kell's last three or four whatever opponents he's faced. Rico, I'd agree with your argument to an extent if I had seen Kell face anyone at world level, but he's not. Let's be realistic, and you've said yourself how Eddie's been matching him soft consistently over the past year. You may feel that Amir's chin plays a big factor, but when you look at the flaws of fell, it's just as bad. There was this guy on Twitter the other day mentioning how they're both made for each other and I somewhat agree, because both have a sort of style which would trouble each other with Kell being the counter puncher and Amir having the sort of style that can throw many punches at a time, but what brings me to the conclusion that Amir would be the victor (no tree) in this fight, is how Kell unscrambles himself almost and loses himself to his own success. I totally agree with what JFT just said about Kell not even knowing his true style, because when he's in the ring, he'll abandon what he does and try something else and won't go back to what worked for him. There's a lot more I'd add, but I've just ate and I'm being lazy. If you still disagree, then we'll agree to disagree. Just remember, when Khan wins, you're not back in the fan club.
I don't quite believe Kell is a puncher on there levels, yet. In his next few fights, I'll see how he does, so my opinion may change. :good Yeah, I was thinking that I said a stupid amount. But I do know it was extremely low, and his body definition at the weigh in showed that. He was absolutely shredded. This content is protected
Fair play, kind of similar to my views on Garcia. I was just going with the logic that Prescott hasn't really KO'd anyone significant since Khan, and the same with Garcia, along with the fact Brook is the bigger man, and tends to buzz most of his opponents. This in my opinion is Khan's biggest issue, he's not got an awful chin, he just seems to lose his head when he gets buzzed.

Lets put it like this if Khan moves upto 147(which he has to really soon) and can hold punches better up there being he is not boiling down to make weight anymore and while there improves his power, Khan may well shock alot of people to what he can do at 147. I could be totally wrong or i could be right lets wait and see.
I also think Kell was bit shocked to see Khan is the same size as him if not a tad bigger, Khan at 147 will be good for him.
We heard the exact same thing when he moved to 140, his chin turned out to be improved, because he no longer had twig legs and a huge upper body. Moving upto WW will make little difference IMO, it's not a matter of how his chin holds up at 147, it's can he make the defensive improvements required to protect his chin? I don't think so, but I hope Amir proves me wrong.
