I'm definitily going for Khan on this one, because:

A - MAB is shot. Every time theres a major fight with a shot fighter people judge the shot fighter on achievements that were years ago, eg Lewis vs Tyson, Tyson was shot, he was never winning that fight, and same with Calzaghe vs Jones.

B - Khan is now trained by Roach, and will clearly be a better fighter for it.

C - Warren fighters never face opponents in their prime, they fight bums and shot fighters, win a shitty WBO title and milk the public for as much possible. This fight is basically a big marketing tool for Warren as he knows Khan will win.

I've put my money where my mouth is and backed Khan.

If I win, happy days, if I lose, dont mind too much as Khan will have lost and I dont like him, so good!

Ref to jump in way too early as Khan throws a flurry of shots that MAB is blocking/riding.

To clarify, I predict a worse stoppage that Calzaghe v Manfredo. (not that Manfredo had a chance anyway)

Is this disputable stoppage theory going to be a self fullfilling prophesy?

I know people are saying the young fresh guy beats the old has been. But this is slightly different. As this is about Khan having to prove he even belongs in the same ring with a world class operator like Barrera. I think Khan will look good early on with his speed accuracy but as the fight wears on Barrera will suss him and begin to painfully exploit weakness in him. If Michael Gomez exploited weakness be sure Barrera will. Yes Khan has probaly improved since the Gomez, Limond and Prescott fights but he will need to.

Its the Gomez fight that gives me the doubts when I think about this fight. I still think Khan will dominate though...

It all remains to be seen, i am finally succumbing to this being a fascinating fight. Does Khan have the moves to tske on a great (albeit an ageing one??). Khan has skills and energy, Barrera is Barrera. I am enthralled.

Yeah and lets remeber Gomez is just a cheap version of a Mexican legend fighter (basing himself on the Mexican legend Gomez)

Also Gomez looked about 85 years old when he fought Carl Johnasberg

He looked a bit better for Khan but he still moved his body so slowly bob and weaving to avoid Khans shots you would swear Gomez had arthtrtis !!!

Bottom line - Gomez is a old man in boxing terms - a British level fighter

Barrera is one of Mexico's greatest ever fighters - world class, even if he is smaller, older, etc, etc, if he still got anything left, and its said he got his Mojo back for this fight, he is good enough to expose Khans amteur flaws.

I cant see any way Khan loses this fight, not one single way, and the only reason I say that is Frank Warren.

Frank knows Amir is his biggest cash cow, he's probably the 2nd most recognisable boxer in the country, and a loss at this point of his career would be disastrous, and would immediately put Khan back at domestic level, and with the ascendancy of Haye & the new Olympians, he may never reclaim the limelight he's in now.

I dont think for one single minute that Warren would put that on the line so soon after getting KO's by Prescott.

However much we may dislike Frank, he's a wily old goat, and knows the business inside out, and he MUST know that Barrerra is too old, too slow etc, not strong enought etc, but also provides a big enough name to do business on PPV, setting up a rematch with Prescott and onto bigger things
