Didn't Goldenboy guarantee Khan $1mill+ a fight. If thats the case then they are gonna lose a a bit of money considering what HBO have offered for the fight!

Maidana would have even less of a chance against Bradley. Maidana's people just think that they can get more $ by taking it to purse bids. If you thought you could earn more money for doing the same job wouldn't you?

There is nothing wrong in demanding more money or a higher percentage but it seems to me that Maidana is the one who is looking for escape routes not Khan, the only prblem in this will be if Khan refuses to pay more then the fight will be called off and Khan wil labelled as the ducker, it is just a shame, I persoanlly think Khan is wiling to face all the top dogs but the problem then lies in negotiating terms and money it has spoilt many fights and it will continue to do so I just don't think it will be fair to label boxers as duckers when this does happen.

If Maidanas entitled to 45% then Khan should just give him what hes entitled to...if you were doing a job and your boss/colleague decided he was going to pay you less than you were entitled to...you probably wouldnt be best pleased. Khan has ducked Maidana for long enough (the step aside deal was a duck by Kha/goldenboy in my opinion)...he should either fight him or stop mouthing off and bullshitting about it on twitter. Why would Maidana or anyone else want to fight for less than theyrte entitled to.
Maidana has said hes happy to do a winner takes all...Khan is blatently ducking Maidana.

The last time they were supposed to fight Roach said he'd vacate the title rather than face Maidana

plus most of his own fans on this fansite seem to think hes going to vacate

Looking for an escape route by requesting purse bidding...

Does anyone really need to tell you how ridiculous that is

As its gone to purse bids then it will be the winning bidder handing out the dosh, not Khan

Maidana is entitled to 45% IF the fight goes to purse bids, theres nothing stopping GBP offering Maidana a sum that is less than 45% of the total purse and it being to the benefit of Maidana.

Hypothetical figures but Kahn could be on $1 million for the fight and GBP could offer Maidana $400,000, its a lot less than 45% of the purse but it would still be more money for Maidana than if the fight went out to purse offers and was won with a bid of $800,000, that would leave Maidana with his 45% being worth $360,000.

(BTW talk of "Winner takes all" fights are just PR stunts, whens the last one that happened? )

Maidana doesn't want any of Khan, his whole illusion will cease to exist after he loses. He was offered more than twice his previous highest payday, more than he would get versus both Bradley/Alexander.

Does Maidana think GBP are going to favour him over Khan in sorting this fight out?
He is being offered his best payday for a big fight with Khan on HBO for the title.
However, acting like a twat to gain more leverage aint a bad idea.

I think part of the reason Maidana called for purse bids is because Team Khan looked like they were yet again trying to wriggle their way out of it (all the rubbish Khan was talking about Maidana not even being his mandatory) purse bids will ensure that Khan either fights or vacates. I think Maidana was dead right to do that as Khan was recently in talks to fight Murray and Katsidis and said both were "pricing themselves out of the fight" before not fighting them.

Plus irrespective of the amounts given (and I do think the purse bid will mean more actual money going to Maidana) its the matter of principle that Maidana should be given his fair percentage.

Yeah exactly, I think Khan was deliberately giving maidana a crap offer so he wouldnt want to fight Khan.

Freddie Roach didnt want Khan in the same ring as Maidana before the step aside deal and the Paulie fight...and was prepared to have Amir vacate rather than fight Maidana...Khan hasnt become invincible since then...I'll be very surprised if khan fights Maidana.

The reason the Maidana wants the fight to go to purse bids is that he feels 45% of the purse on the open market is worth more than whatever GBP productions are offering him. Thats all. A fight going to purse bids has nothing to do with Khan being any more likely to be stripped if he doesn't take the fight than if it didn't go to purse bids

He'll be given a fair percentage, he has exercised his option to send the fight out to purse bids so he'll get 45%. Whats the problem? That GBP made him an offer that he said "no" to? Wheres the harm in that?

They made an offer, Maidana said "no thanks, send the fight out to purse bids". End of story. No fuss, no drama.

They made Maidana a crap offer because they are businessmen who want to screw a situation as much as possible. How is it making Maidana not want to fight Khan? They would have known as mandatory he has the option to just send the fight out to purse bids.

Maidana did right to call for the purse bids I think it'll speed up the fight either happening or not hsappening...as well as probably getting him more $

I think Khans team (who are co promoting) wanted to low ball Maidana in the hope he'd fight someone else instead. Anyhow hopefully it'll cut out a lot of the bollocks and twittering and they'll just fight at last.
