Its 4 weeks isnt it? Thaxton says he has been in the gym in anticipation of a Khan fight. But I have no idea about the other guys, I'm sure theres a decent lightweight out there in fighting shape for Feb 08.

4 weeks tomorow actually. Im sure someone who has been around as long as Thaxton has taken fights at shorter notice. He can probs use this as a bit of a bargaining tool though.

I think most fighters that train year round, which is 90% of boxers, that are in the Lightweight Division as it is probably the most high profile match that isn't for a World Title, and probably the most well paid.

 

Shame they can't bring Barry Jones back?

 

They should get Thaxton or Murray in.

 

I can't help thinking its almost like fate this fight has fallen through after Khan's team withdrew from the Thaxton fight.

Putting all your eggs in one basket can backfire when things outside of your control don't go according to plan.

 

Murray would not take the fight.
