dont think Amir be queueing for anything really, Great FOTY contender + points deductions + razor thin SD victory for Peterson = rematch
Peterson has improved since losing to Bradley so there’s no reason to think that, after such a good showing against Khan, he can’t improve again. Both have the benefit of knowing each other in the ring now. Khan knows he needs to be more positive and keep control of the range. Peterson knows he can’t box with Khan, so needs to be aggressive and cut the ring off better. I expect the rematch will be as evenly contested as the first bout. What must be a concern was that there was never any point where Khan dominated Peterson after the first round (and even then, he wasn’t landing much of note). But when Peterson got in close, he mugged Amir. Worth considering: Khan had the upper hand on the outside but only just. On the inside Khan was like a lamb.
khan was too busy making noises to everyone else,he forgot about peterson. thats what cost him the bout IMO
Doubt this is actually confirmed but I hope it is and it's at the Mandalay Bay. Amir wins in 8, no doubt about that at all this time
Yeah, cos everything we know about Khan, about Peterson, and from what we saw Saturday night undoubtedly points to that.atsch
I must have missed the part where Khan had Peterson ready to go..... I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that he wins the rematch at all. They're in denial if they think it's a simply combination of the referee and judges ripping him off that cost him this fight.
I thought the judges gave Amir more credit than he deserved actually. Khan did hurt Peterson at one point, compared to the four times or so that Peterson hurt Khan.
I think Peterson may well have Khan's number. If he fights the same way again then it's obvious that he's going to cause Khan lots of problems. He will also have the added confidence of being the champion this time. Khan needs to find a way to stop him coming forwards and getting inside. Does he have the power to discourage Peterson? I don't think so.
Well, he wont sacrifice two rounds trying to box Amir, thats for sure. Hell be aggressive from the get-go and work more on refining how he did it. He was effective, but crude at times in how he cut off the ring. Khan can be more assertive in centre-ring, move less, and keep off the ropes. But Peterson didnt seem to struggle with his size and strength the way he did with Ortiz.
Me neither, like Peterson says in that post fight presser Khan's punches are stinging but not really heavy - you can just shake em off. Khan needs to throw upercuts as Peterson comes in low rather than pushing him down.
