Maybe/probably so but isnt boxing about taking risks?

Fighting in America is clearly a big thing for him, no doubt fueled by what his gym partner is doing, will Frank allow him to go out there? While he's filling venues here I cant see it.

He's always been pretty insistent he wont be a pro even in his late 20s so maybe its the perfect time to try something new, if it goes wrong then TR or GB will happily pick him up.

Thanks for that, it's just hard to believe a couple of sentences somebody has typed in to a forum y'kno?

Anyway it's a very interesting comment by Khan, people seemed to think he was done with Warren after the Kotelnik fight but he wasn't. I'd have presumed he'd have signed another 3 fight deal but that doesn't appear to be the case.

If Khan goes, Warren loses his PPV slot with sky, and also the only fighter on his books right now who could draw a crowd in a proper arena as opposed to a leisure centre.

But then the final paragraph Warren talks about going to the states with Khan next year. Very interesting, will be good to see how it develops.

Sorry, I didn't post a source because I took it from another forum.

Thanks to Pug1list for finding the source!

I agree quite squarely with Grant1. If Khan leaves Warren he's a fool.

No one could pull a rabbit out of the hat like Warren did after Prescott smashed the guy to bits - a warm up with ***an followed by Barrera (!!!!!!) followed by a world title fight.

As has also been mentioned if Khan goes it alone and gets sparked again, there's no way he's going to be able to resurrect himself in the same way Warren is able to. Nor do I have much faith in that bastion of wisdom, Asif Vali in being able to match-make.

I don't see why Warren can't get Khan the fights he wants in the US? He managed to get a deal with Don King, why not GBP or Arum?

Leaving Warren just doesn't make sense.

maybe cause khan wants the big fights and maybe cause khan cares about his popularity. I think being on ppv and being with warren has damaged his image alot, and i think team khan probably know this

I'm pretty sure the PPV move was Khan's idea.

Frank Warren has brought Khan an accelerated boxing career, one that few other promoters would be able to achieve in such a fashion. This is why Khan is hated so much by the likes of Froch and Murray who are relatively less successful (commercially and financially) and achieved nothing close to what Khan has done aged 22 in 22 fights. I'm not saying this to take anything away from Froch or Murray - i'm just trying to highlight how Frank Warren has managed to give Khan an accelerated and protected career path while also getting him £££ at the box office.

That kind of match-making and commercial savvy is difficult to come across.

Mmmm, aye ok, will give you that one. If the lad thinks he is made of better things, he is obviously wanting to prove it, lets wait and see then. **** you never know I may even change my mind on him if he takes on dangerous guys and comes out unscathed, dont hold your breath for too long though:good

I think you people are missing the point here, Khan spends most of his training time around Roach who iam sure is behind Khan wanting to fight over in the U.S. Roach is in control of Khan now not Warren, plus Khan and Haye are good friends maybe even David has put things into Khan's ear about setting up his own company like Hayemaker Promotions' and now 'Khan Promotions'.

Here is a clip of the two WBA World Champions at the Manny Cotto fight.
