    Unified world light-welterweight champion Amir Khan is reportedly close to securing a return to Sky Sports after fighting his last two world title bouts with Paul McCloskey and Zab Judah on rival network Primetime.


    The 24 year-old officially announced his December 10th meeting with IBF mandatory challenger Lamont Peterson in Washington yesterday and according to The Guardian, could take the bout back to his former home after a public fall-out in April this year.


    Sky have recently scrapped all boxing pay-per-view events and it is not known whether a Khan return would signal the re-igniting of fights on Sky Box Office as ‘King’ Khan has stated in the past that he is solely a ‘pay-per-view fighter.’


    The recent formation of Frank ******’s BoxNation boxing channel may have been the catalyst for Sky positioning themselves to pick up the rights to Khan fights as their only current world champion is Carl Froch, who is signed to Matchroom Sport.

    This is a big U Turn for the Khan Camp...however if sky put Khan back on PPV this will be a very hypocritical move by Sky considering that they supposedly cancelled PPV for the time being....!!

    More likely just the opposite. Sky is a business. They wouldn't bring him back unless they thought they could make money.
    I don't get the delight from the OP? Surely this changes nothing. We,ll just pay Sky £15 instead of Primetime?

    It would be hypocritical if Sky said 'We dont do pay per view and nor should anyone else'...and then put it on. This is just a change of mind\business strategy. The bloke who said no more ppv might have been given the boot.

    This is all about the Mayweather fight. They'll put his next two fights on Sky Sports then the Mayweather fight will be box office. That would be the smart thing to do but then again the ppl behind team Khan aren't the brightest tools in the tool box

    its good newsbecause its no longer gonna be 15 quidy ou dumb ****s,sky are not doing ppv's for awhile, they will probably give khan a big lump sum considering how they have more money to spend with ******s stable gone.

    He seems to be giddy on this snippet from yesterdays paper..:think

    "I definitely want to fight someone at 147 before I go into the major fights, just to see how I feel and do at that weight," said Khan, who is in discussions with Sky Sports over the broadcasting of the Peterson fight. Khan's last two contests, the win over Judah and Paul McCloskey in April, were shown on the Primetime channel following a falling out between Khan's promoters and Sky, but both now appear close to resuming their relationship."

    Not really. He wouldn't move to sky if his PT figures were any good. It wouldn't make sense. He now knows how many views he gets on both channels, and I assume he gets more on Sky, hense the reason he is going back.

    We won't have to pay 15 quid for the peterson fight, that I'm certain. It'll all build to a Mayweather PPV to rival Hatton-May IMO

    Sky should use the same as the HBO contract with Khan and pay him 750k-1m and have the fight on normal Sky Sport and bulid this up as a investment for a Floyd-Khan PPV fight next year.
