It’s certainly plausible, but the injury would have only really affected either his movement or punch output. At the end of the day, he was getting tagged and shaken every round, and not always off power punches too.

I really thought Khan would win but there is no conceivable way he wins the rematch for me, he needs to pack in.

He's confident wanting a tune up where he could lose to Alan down the pub this far along isnt he!

It would have to be a very very safe opponent, and who wants to see that ****

Let us see brook spark him properly if we have to see him in the ring again, that I wouldn't mind so much. :roto2rie:

Problem Khan has is he also said the love for the sport isn't there anymore.

That's why it makes it an even harder sell because if you didn't already know he was just in it for a payday (most of us on here), then he basically admitted it after that comment.

He was very clear in that post fight interview. I know it's just after the defeat, but he seemed to have made his peace with retirement. I worry that others got to him subsequently and started talking him round to continuing. How much money does he (they) really need?

Khan is a shot to pieces old name fighter without a win in three years.

PERFECT fodder for match room to feed to one of their house fighters. Conor benn anyone? Fits the mould nicely imo

It's a shame. I warmed to him at that point, very genuine, a bit wistful, but he knew.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and there's all this rematch nonsense. He's got kids that need their dad fit well and alert far more than a few more zeroes in the family bank account. The people closest to him need to be reinforcing the decision he'd made that night, not fuelling a delusion that he only lost due to injury etc. He lost because he's done.

Khan is at the worst point for a fighter-the end of the career.
Where even if part of you wants to retire, even if you know you are t what you were at least in part you want to keep doijg what you have all your life.
    It’s hard to let go.

Everyone saying Khan doesn’t need the money and doesn’t need to fight. He could be living lavish lifestyle they own property in Dubai and have made big investments. I have a feeling it’s his wife who craves to be a celeb. If she’s encouraging him to fight then she doesn’t care about him
