They were scheduled for a rematch but Peterson got busted for PEDs and then Garcia derailed the Khan express.

I don’t mind seeing the winner of Khan-Peterson face off against Thurman/Garcia.

Nothing wrong with this fight, silly thread. Khan just fought Canelo and got brutally knocked out, as a comeback fight this is actually very solid.

    This is a cracking fight.

Peterson has redeemed himself after his destruction against Lucas.

If Khan beats Peterson he'll chase Garcia next I believe.

Khan has always wanted to avenge his losses, he's said that repeatedly for years now - it means something to him. It doesn't matter if he's Top 10 or top 30, he's arrived back at the world scene with a bang, getting himself the WBA belt and Khan has always gunned after Peterson. Peterson is Top 10, even fights with Danny Garcia and Felix Diaz, now a belt.

One of the other names he's pursuing is Garcia, who regardless of whether he wins or loses, is a top name, too.

He has started getting back into shape because he wants another fight. Look at his pics from before training, don't just call BS, I'm telling it how it actually is.

The IBF is ultimately a cereal box belt and there is only to be one true champ of a division, Peterson's WBA belt is as valuable to me as an IBF belt because you don't need to beat the best to get these belts these days.

I know Khan is insufferable but think about it with a cool mind.

That's amazing as he's never avenged a single one. In fact, has he managed to secure a rematch? What's that? No? Wow. He sounds really committed to chasing those guys down.

There's also no point talking to you about this if you're going to place the IBF belt, won from Porter and about to be defended against Spence with the WBA's interim title. Interim titles don't mean anything and you know it.

I also don't consider Peterson a 'top' name at 147.

He's way behind Brook, Thurman, Spence, Garcia, Porter, Pac and Bradley. He'd prob do alright against Chaves, Broner or Vargas but I wouldn't be surprised if he lost to all three of those guys too. That's without putting Khan on the list.

Amir's a joke. His ducking of Brook has made him look a total fool.

It's pointless trying to reason with him, he's a massive Khan fanboy.

You're just a Khan detractor if you don't think he wanted to avenge his Garcia/Peterson losses...he went straight for the Peterson rematch intill Lamont fails his PED tests...VADA defintly required here.

Khan shouldn't go near Peterson unless he wants a backpedalling marathon again.

It doesn't matter if he hasn't yet, he genuinely wants to avenge them. I believe he went into hiding a little so he could try and secure a Mayweather fight, yet he still fought stylistic threats. If Mayweather can draw against Maidana in the first fight, then a live Julio Diaz will light up Khan at times.
He has tried to make the Garcia rematch happen but Angel the idiot Garcia said 'not yet' and that it doesn't interest him.

You're shifting the goal posts with regards to what 'top' means. Also, someone who has an even fight with Diaz and Garcia is always going to be seen as the favourite against someone like Chaves and Vargas, it only takes agenda and dishonesty to assert otherwise given Lamont's recent body of work.

WBA, IBF..it doesn't matter what route Brook took, a 'world title' is a 'world title' and it's just as difficult to get a WBA regular as it is an IBF. Case in point - Matchroom Boxing fighters.

The WBA champion is Thurman, not Peterson. If Khan genuinely wants the WBA title he needs to fight Thurman, not Peterson.

i very much doubt Khan would fight Brook,Thurman.Garcia or Spence...
he will probably fight somebody like Bundu or Guererro then hope for a payday in autumn vs Pac then call it a day

My point is that it doesn't matter because in this era, I've seen WBC, IBF, WBO belts of far less note than Peterson's WBA regular.

He does deserve to get his ass kicked by Brook because of the treatment he's been giving Brook throughout the years, but you guys lose your clout when you pick the wrong moments to attack Khan. There's absolutely nothing wrong with him avenging one of his losses that he quite frankly always has cared about more than a fight with Brook. GET OVER IT.
