That's how i feel too. Im getting the feeling that Kahn doesn't need a presscott rematch anymore to get to the next level..

First fight is starting to look like a fluke and i wouldnt blame him if he chose some other fight instead of a presscott rematch.

Deserve has got nothing to do with it. Prescott would jump at the chance to fight Khan again. He won't get that kind of money anywhere else.

Khan would be daft to take that fight anyway. He'll be able to fight for a world title later this year and doesn't need to be thinking about Prescott. Proving it was a fluke or whatever is rather pointless. Maybe it's a personal battle he feels the need to take on, but otherwise who cares?

signing prescott was a masterstroke by warren he can steer their careers in different directions completely and khan will never really have to avenge the defeat to get to where he's going

    Quote from Amir Khan:

"Against Prescott we made that little mistake and we had to pay for it."

We? - oh right, it was his coachs fault.

I think the problem for Khans carreer long term is that Prescott isn't the only one who could do that to him.

Warren is going to have a pretty hard job keeping him away from every ighter with a good punch for his whole carreer.

That's the very reason it's such a gutsy move.

It is...and I would respect Khan a lot for getting it on with him. In fact, I said a few days ago that this is precisely the fight Khan should be taking on next...:conf

...so...I can hardly be disappointed if the lad wants it, can I?:good

And yet the thread starter has a problem with this rematch.

If I were Khan, I would have waited for one or two more fights before getting back in with Prescott.

But if he wants to exorcise the demons sooner, fair play to him.

There can be no good reasons whatsoever to be against this fight, if you want Khan to take the acid test again...:good

And what do you base that on?

The warning signs were there before Prescott sparked him. If Willie Limond, a domestic level Super Feather with 8 stoppages in 30 odd fights could drop him, then you always worried what would happen when a full blooded lightweight caught him.

    Against Prescott we found out.

If it weren't for Khan offering a fight to Prescott, we wouldn't know who Prescott was, and he'd have no leverage for any significant fights. That's what Khan did to deserve a rematch. Whether Prescott lost or not, he'd still have the highlight KO of a strong name, even if a lot of the luster would be gone.
