it s only down hill from here on in that speed aint getting quicker its the opposite it really does not ook good for khan from here on out unless he sticks to dragging fighters up from the lower weight divisions
He's still very quick, though as the OP mentioned, when it can be timed speed can be neutralised. Khan has that terrible habit of overcooking combinations - specifically - throwing straights when in mid-range. In a 12 rounder he constantly find himself out of position with this tactic. At the world level he continues to look vulnerable. Virgil's 'improvements' have been more so in speech than in the pudding.
The only thing Khan has improved on is delusion. He ranks himself on the level of Floyd and Pacquiao. He lies about being a big draw in the sport to duck guys he knows he loses too. im just waiting on who his next opponent is going to be once Floud or Manny don't choose him as an opponent.
I think his athleticism is declining fast - at a relatively young age as well, but a prime Khan was one of the fastest of all time.
Yup this too. Even at his peak he relied far to much on his athleticism and speed. He was always very beatable.
He'll make for some damn good highlight reel KO's along the way too RJJ athleticism lasted much longer. Khan should only be coming into his prime at 28. Not to pull out the khan**** card, but I think Khan probably is with the wrong trainer. He needs a middle ground, Roach is pure offense, Hunter is excellent defensively, neither suit Khan. He is a KO waiting to happen again worse than ever atm imo. He needs to learn to use that athleticism, natural talent and speed on the outside, be aggressive out there, and continue to tie up on the inside. The worst thing you can do with Khan, is try and make him a thinking fighter.
