I think kid will struggle to get fights in the uk. ...hes gonna have to go in the deepend against a top tier fighter who makes no money (meaning very little) like rigondeux or a kiko martinez tier fighter

 

Martinez would be a good shout for him to be fair. Still game but possibly on the slide now. Don't think he'd stop him but would be a good learning fight. What about Gavin McDonald?

Beggars cant be choosers. There is not 23 top potentially world level superbantams. He is needed in the division. Particularly now Quigg has been exposed. Anyway he has been punished enough - as long as he stays clean I say let him box.

 

He can't box until 20 March. He's been sparring with Jazza in preparation for Saturday's fight.

 

Be interesting to see if he comes back at 122. He was always tight at that weight - and now with the layoff, and being a year older.....

I have mixed emotions about it, it is his first offence, he claims he was spiked (which has to be a possibility) he has served his punishment and his reputation has been damaged, maybe he deserves the chance to redeem himself.

On the other side, any form of cheating in a combat sport like boxing where people can be seriously hurt or even killed really is despicable.

 

Nothing will change until fighters face bans that seriously affect their earnings, status and genuinely hurts their window of opportunity in this sport. If we live in a world that believes in second chances then I think a 5 year ban is the minimum. If a boxer does it when he's young then he still has time, if he does it when he's old then his time is over anyway. Anything less is just a waste of time. Fighters miss 12-24 months all the time through injury, contract issues etc. It hurts but not enough.

 

Some good possible fights then. If they can get donaire for quigg in September and he can get a belt back then no reason why he couldn't fight Galahad around Christmas. Give him chance to have a couple of fights to get back into things. In the meantime frampton can duck rigo a few times and fight the winner of quigg Galahad next year in another all British fight. Throw McDonald in the mix and the possibility of any of them moving up and boxing selby and there's some good British fights there
