I don't like the bashing a lot of prospects get, but I honestly don't think DeGale will win a Euro or world title against a solid champion. At this stage, I have very serious doubts if he'll ever win a British title as well.

DeGale was beyond awful last time out.

As Eubank said, boxing is a hungry man's game.

Degale can only be judged when he takes on a fighter that can handle himself .. Degale needs to take a few shots before we can judge him .. I dont like what ive seen so far, he's an amatuer trying to be a pro so far against part time fighters, unlike Frankie Gavin who for me looks like a dynamite prospect ..

All the mouthing off from Degale makes me believe he doesnt quite realise what it truly takes to get to the top and stay there, but i wouldnt really take Eubank's criticism to heart, an analysis of his career suggests that he was a great domestic level fighter but was very wary in taking on the top Americans of the time .... Eubank could have made the Toney and Jones fights but he never fancied it, and to be fair to him he admits as much ....

If DeGale had turned pro and not gone to the Olympics i reckon people would rate him higher.

its the done thing to hate on olympians. happened and still does with Khan. allot of guys on here said he wouldnt get to Domestic level and now he is world champ at 23.

i just don't think hes been challenged or can be assed with fighting the bums !!

I think he just needs properly testing to see the best of him, i think hes got a lot of ability hes just finding it hard fighting these bums he can easily beat...

Coz hes knew to the pro game Franks giving him fights to try and get him used to different styles, when i think its bull****... coz fightings fighting at the end of the day, get some1 in there who wants to kill him and you'll see a different fighter..

I just see him as a bored fighter... he needs a proper fight

How can you go into training camp for 3-4 months knowing the boy your fighting is a complete ***** and you could beat him with ya eyes closed ??

    Its a disappointment !!

Are you sure ?? He looks like a fluid, slapping (Calzaghe-esque) kind of fighter to me, against guys who a barely throwing anything back .. Get Degale in a dogfight were he takes a few shots, then we'll see what hes got as a pro fighter, he could make a name for himself in this country under the Warren banner .. Anywere else and he'd be toast ....

You never know, this guy might just not have that KO factor but might be able to box his way through long boring fights, all the way to a world title. DeGale is always searching for the KO when he fights but I just don't think he can fight like that, saying all that, he has looked ordinary in his fights so far.

It's hard to tell at this early stage but I think King has a point. I reckon he gets fed a string of cans and is thrown in a dangerous 'looking' fight only to be decked and knocked all over the shop. He may come through it but definitley not unscathed.

Chris Eubanks hungry fighter statement doesn't always stand.
    Depends on the fighters mentality.

Danny Williams' says James has got what it takes.

Come on Rob. People seem to really like the other Olympians. I think the issue with Degale, Khan and Audley is that they are pricks.

I rate Amir Khan more than anyone on this site but I think he is a twat.

I am still pushing the talent of Audley too but Degale is a proper nobhead and the sooner he faces a decent test and loses the better. He has shown very little to get excited about.

    I concur...

You shouldnt start running off your mouth before you've even accomplished anything in the sport. Mayweather does it, and whether you love him or hate him, he has the skills to back it up and has shown it on the world stage.

Degale is just an arrogant cockney who's let the limelight get to his head.
Harrison had/has all the tools to be a success, but has never delivered for one reason or another (mainly after starting to promote himself)
And Khan, for all his unbelievable hand speed, and yes him being a world champ, but definitely took an easy route to a title and will forever cherry pick his opponents whilst dodging the big hitters.

Whilst on the subject of people who think they're actually better than they are, i'd like to also throw Tyson Furys name into the pack... what a clown.

There's just something about the guy that makes me want to turn off everytime he's fighting.

He is talented, but as a few people have said he will be lucky to make it to Euro level and i would put my house on him never winning a world title.
