Yep and the girl is too, it's their band. I started listening to them after I saw Chappie, they grew on me for some reason.

 

Since there's been so little boxing on this week, I've used this as an opportunity to catch up on some movies. Here's my rundown.

Straight Outta Compton - Overrated, too long, liked hearing all the NWA music, since I used to listen to it when I was teenager, the guys who played Easy E and Dre were good, Giamatti was solid and Ice Cube's son if it weren't for the fact that he sounds and has his father's nuances, wouldn't be very good. Maybe I set my expectations too high, but I doubt it. It was just okay. ***

Spectre - I hate Daniel Craig, and I haven't like one of the Bond films he's been in, they're way too serious, lack any sense of humor or campiness. This one finally broke that mold, Craig finally warmed to the ole, the settings were old school Bond in Tunisia, Mexico, Italy, it went along at a blistering pace, and was compelling for about 1 and 50 minutes, but the last 30 it almost grinded to a screeching halt, it was overlong but the slow last 5th wasn't enough to ruin it. See it best Craig Bond film by far.****

Carol - Brilliant film, it was a throwback to the films of Vicente Minnelli from the 50's, Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara are lesbian lovers one late life the other bi-curious in the 1950's and they go on a road trip to get away from her ex. Its an amazing study of human frailty and longing, there's long stretches that don't have a ton of dialogue, only their glances at one another, and of course its somewhat tragic. And Rooney Mara is naked which is a plus.:hey *****

Black Mass - Johnny Depp was robbed of a nomination, he's perfectly cast, and almost haunting in his coldness, I was thrilled to finally see him actually act again, back to Donnie Brasco territory and away from those ridiculous Pirates movies. One downside to the movie though, as brilliant as Depp is the writing and directing are routine and has a police procedural vibe. Great performance in average movie. ***

Crimson Peak - One of the most underrated films of the year, Guillermo Del Toro is hit and miss, I love Devil's Backbone, Blade 2, Pacific Rim and Pan's Labyrinth, not too fond of Mimic, Hellboy or Hellboy 2. This movie was solid from start to finish, I had creepy undercurrents, great setting, great atmosphere, it had the feel of a Hammer Film from the 60's Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston were perfect in their roles, and it had some genuinely creepy moments that may stick with less jaded viewers. *****

Now I have to watch Bridge Of Spies and The Big Short. Neither of which I'm looking forward to in the slightest.

Sicario is next.

 

Pretty much. But thankfully for Lil Butt I doubt he can understand a damn thing they're saying, I barely do.

 

Yeah they're definitely not quite Khia My Neck, My Back level.
