How do you know what we would have picked, though? A missed pick that may well have been a win hurts just as much as a loss in some cases. Case in point...The seven missed picks that I have (which include a number of "easy" picks) could just as easily leave me with a score of 124-23 (and in first place) as 117-30. By my estimate, I'd be either 4-3 or 5-2 on my missed picks, and at least a couple of spots higher.

Anyway, I'll say this before...

If we adopt this rule, then those who adopt it need to make damned good and certain that they stay on top of the list of fights and post it on a far more regular basis than is currently the case. That way, we don't have to sift through pages and pages and pages of pages and pages and pages of unrelated matter to find a list of the god damned fights that are scheduled to take place.

Currently, that's not happening, and that is something that needs to change if we are going to penalize those who miss picks on an occasional basis, over and above not having additional wins on their record.

Period.

Missing picks has never given anyone an advantage. It has never been an issue in the last ten years and it is not an issue now. When you miss a pick you miss out on a win 80% of the time, since we all average somewhere around 80% correct picks.

If someone wants to join the league next week, they should inherit 147 losses because they "missed" the first 6 months? No, that's ridiculous.

If someone misses 7 picks in those first six months, they should inherit 7 losses? No, that's just as ridiculous.

No they miss the picks they missed from the month they start...!!! If they start in July and only make 30 of the 31 picks, the ONE PICK they miss would be a loss. They don't get losses from when they weren't participating...!!!

Or if they abandon playing, such as the lower ranked guys, since they haven't made picks since February or March would not be penalized for the months they missed, but if they make ONE PICK in July, they should have to forfeit or accrue losses on all the other matches that month...!!!

 

I picked Garcia first, copycat...!!! Though my "Official" Pick is Garcia UD, I was still had my pick in 30 minutes before you did; no plagiarizing my picks, Punk...:yep

Not a bad approach to take, and I don't see it being any less successful. But at that point it becomes even more imperative to have frequent access to the list of upcoming fights.

Anyway, I've got my picks in for this week, and I'll see about getting the remaining picks for July in over the next few days.
