The hardest thing for me would have been to decide how many places a winner will climb the ranking when he wins, I guess it will depend on the ranking of his opponent and the if the guy who claims the same place fights a better opponent. And also how much should a loser drop. A Ko win will be more difficult and more rewarding, a wide UD vs a close one and other things to take into consideration. And there will only be rankings, no records, the one holding #1 when the ongoing WBK voluntary title defense ends will become next mandatory. The one holding #1 rank when the mandatory will have to survive on top 1 more fight or claim a voluntary spot.
It will be a little like a mini-league in a league, I don't know, don't want to upset kirk in any way, that's why I ask and wait for his opinion.
Another idea would be to leave #1 vacant while the voluntary is ongoing and name the two best guys fighting eachother a eliminator bout for #1 spot. Eg: #2 vs #3 for mandatory spot or #2 vs #4 if for some reason #3 is responding late or is on vacation etc. Or we could let the fighters to try and to get the best rank they can to get them to #1. Eg: #3 time to accept a challenge has come(last fight he has issued one) so he cant chose who to fight, he must accept who comes for him, and #6 challenges first so this will become a chance for #4 to take on #2 and make a better fight who's winner will claim the #1 rank. :think
Beast a few doubts. How does the decision picks work, do we have to say close decision or wide decision and do we have to say if its a split decision or a unanimous one? Also when theres a stoppage do we need to specify if its a KO or a TKO? And we have to pm you the picks right?
I think Kirk has his mind wrapped in his big news plans. But I also think if we can make this work, it will really make most of the active members more involved and the league itself more exiting. Right now if you don't fight for the WBK or Peoples you don't feel like so involved. But there will be another thing one you will have a direct confrontation with another member, a you vs him direct type of fight, with strategy to try and climb the rankings in one week you get to chose who you fight, and try to maintain another when you are being challenged.
The first top10 would be made by the current point system, all of the guys who want to can partake and try to break into top10 if they didn't find themselves there yet. Then If for example 4 guys wont take part for different reasons(they are in vacation, they are banned etc.) those guys will drop out of top 10 or at the bottom, depending on their current ranks and the fights made during those weeks. If an unranked guy challenges another and the opponent will not show up for the fight he will take his place, or a rank closer. We should make a tough rule about missing the first round of a bout, because the fights will least 12 rounds, and sometimes we only have 1 spare round like the last title bout, and it will be a shame to not be able to end a fight and change the ranks exactly when the WBK title fight ends. You will be forced to postpone the next WBK title bout if he has to wait for you a day or worst a week. I hate wasting rounds when the fights take already a bit to long to finish.
Ok. You guys have been at this a lot longer than me, so there are probably many holes in this idea..... But, how about something like this......... Like you said, no records, just rankings. Break it up into tiers....... Champ #1-5 6-10 11-15* etc. The Champ: Can ONLY fight the #1 contender(mandatory) OR ranks 2-5(voluntary). So 1-5. (He can alternate mando/voluntary) The Contenders You can only fight within 1 tier of your ranking. Up or down. If the lower rank wins, he moves to the bottom of the next tier. If the higher guy wins, he stays where he is, or moves up based on other guys in the same tier losing. If the higher guy loses, he moves down to the bottom of the tier of the fighter he lost to.
@Blade Send picks to Beasty. Rules *Lots of rules, but when two good posters go head to head, it comes down to a razors edge sometimes to see who is the best, so in order do to that we try to be as specific as possible* ------------------------------------------------------------------ - All picks for each round must be PM'd to me personally before being listed in the thread. - Each pick is final unless approved to change from your opponent, so think hard and make sure thats the pick you will want put down -------------------------------------- - If you pick the correct winner, and your opponent does not, you win the round 10-8 - If you pick the correct outcome of the winner, and your opponent does not, you win the round 10-9 - If both pick the same fighter by stoppage, the person who picked closest to the round the fight gets stopped in wins the round 10-9 - When picking UD's, you must specify between Close UD - 8 rounds or less to 4 rounds or more for 12 rounders, 6 rounds to 4 for 10 rounders. Wide UD - 9 rounds or more to 3 rounds or less for 12 rounders, 7 rounds or more to 3 rounds or less for 10 rounders. *On 2 of the 3 judges cards* - When picking a stoppage, if champion or challenger pick the correct round the stoppage happens in, it is an instant KO : Unless both participants have picked a KO in that round, in which case its a draw round. - If you pick 1 round off from the round it was actually stopped in, you score a KD and the round is scored 10-8. Unless both participants did, in which case its a draw round. - If you miss a fight on the WBK schedule, it is considered a KD and will be a 10-8 round against you. -------------------------------------- - If you want to change a pick, it must be approved by your opponent.
For bladerunner: When you pick a UD you also pick Close ore Wide , and yes TKO you pick the round also. A Ko can occur when you picked R4 and it happens in R4, a KD can occur when you Pick R4 and it happens in R3 or R5 ( one R away ). A 10-8 dominating round will be when you Pick an fighter and Kirk picks the other one to win.
