When is the last time the far more technically proficient fighter, who soundly beat a fighter the first time around, performed worse in the rematch?
If you wait until I'm less stoned I could give you plenty of examples. Think Mayorga/Forrest. Does that rematch make any sense? He didn't perform worse but he still lost.
Shawn really is one of the most genuinely likable guys in the sport, (although he needs to watch that 3rd person stuff), its a pity he doesn't have a bigger and more devout fanbase.
One of my favorite fighters even though I dont care for his style much lol. But seemingly one of the genuine good guys in the sport. I too wish he had a bigger fan base. I really hope he can get some momentum going this year and get a big win. Berto looks to be next.... then after that Id be down for Garcia if he loses against Thurman. Use those fights to build hype and momentum to a more dangerous fight to cap off of the year. Wont happen but thats what id like to see
Porter should just become a Glen Johnson type road warrior, and do what he does best and just bring the heat wherever he's called to do so. He'd be respected universally within the sport, and he'd be maximizing his ability to make money. No doubt he could upset plenty of prospects who felt brave enough to take him on. He isn't getting any younger, and he seemingly doesn't care about a pretty record anyway. Why not?
I think haymon is holding him back... ive seen a few interviews where hes visibly frustrated with his inactivity. Im sure hed be fighting as often as possible if he could. Would be interesting to know the details on what keeps him from being more active and even being a road warrior.
Same. Really pisses me off we don't get more of an insight into these guys careers, why they do or don't fight, etc. Look at how many interviews there are, and we still never get the full story. Are they under gag orders or some ****?
I wouldn't say Frampton soundly beat LSC, it was a close fight, not exactly a shut out. Almost always in boxing the rematch goes the same way as the first anyways it's like a 90-10 split. I'm sticking with Frampton.

Nobody seems to be taking into account, Santa Cruz might not have been prepared as he should have. He was worrying about his father leading up to the last fight, and he could have very well just had a off night. Like you said it was a close fight, I actually agreed with the judge that had the first fight a draw.
