This is totally random but I was watching this invterview here (got completely sidetracked while trying to do a little 'studying' for this weekend) This content is protected And three things stick out to me 1 - "I am interested to see all this hype about this Errol Spence" You know, thats how champions and warriors should be talking. They dont run from the young lions, they are eager to see if these challengers live up to their hype. Like he said when he said hes very interested in seeing just how hard Golovkin hit, before the fight. 2 - "its going to be a battle to make welterweight again" "Im looking forward to two challenges, making welterweight again.... and... " This worries me about this matchup. Everyone knew it was going to be tough on Brook to make the weight, but between seeing how big and bloated he is in the video, and him admitting just how hard its going to be for him to make the weight again, theres no way this isnt going to play a big factor in how I pick this fight when Brook is looking like a zombie a week out from the fight. 3 - "Instead of giving this title up, It took me too long to get this title, to just give it up just like that.... I couldnt do it" So many times, the 'boxing fans' posting on forums like to talk **** about world titles (and sometimes rightfully so) but they talk as if the titles are meaningless these days, and how even to the fighters they really dont mean anything anymore. But you know, from the guys coming up in the sport, waking up at 4am to do their runs in the morning with their only dream is that this dedication leads them to a world title, to all the fighters who break down crying when they finally win one for their first time, to this example here... a big named fighter who is going to take on a guy he could have easily swerved, at a weight he probably shoudnt try to make anymore, because the title means something to him, and he just cant give it up without a fight. Just stuck out to me is all.... Anyways, really really looking forward to this fight....
not really familiar with Izu Ugonoh, but just looking into him for this fight... hes a guy that when I watch his highlights, I instantly want to pick him (highlights doing their job I guess lol) but when I actually watch him fight.... I just dont know, has a lot wrong with him in between his impressive attacks. Feeling like switching... just not sure yet. Gonna watch a lil more on Breaz.
Not much actual talent comes out of that part of the world, to be honest and blunt. Plenty of heavweights look like monsters against that kind of dreadful regional opposition. You can be a medium sized fish in a small pond and still look like a monster.
Izu IS limited but Breazeale is so slow and he looks in dreadful shape. In these types of fight I always lean for the guy who promoters can make the most money off and that is Izu. I know your betting man so Izu by points is 10/3 I'm gunna be taking that I don't think either man has serious power and Breazeale can take a punch as good as anyone.
I wonder what the under is set at. Probably 5.5 rounds, like the Amir Mansour fight. You have to think about who money has already been invested in, not just the future. Dom received a shady decision or two on the way up, and he was obviously groomed to be one of the new American heavyweights on the block. Maybe he's being cashed out, I don't know honestly. I've stopped presuming I know anything about boxing on any significant level.
The under is 7.5 here in the U.K. not sure about the US. It's gunna be Ugonoh like you said Breazeale has already had the money swing things his way. Haymon just signed Ugonoh, who has the physique of picture perfect HW they would probably wanna market him as one of the rivals of AJ and Wilder. However these are all my suspicions time will tell but I got Ugonoh by points.in a competitive fight.
Hmm, interesting stuff. You almost have to think several steps ahead with boxing. As in, if they propped Dom up by giving him decisions that he doesn't deserve, promoting him, spending the money on gyms and trainers for him.... what's the end goal? It was a slaughter in the UK to further hype bigger and better (and more lucrative) matches for another fighter. It's a long con. Promoters know what matches they're trying to put together a year plus in advance. It's bull****.
I'll score the Rodriguez-Narvaez right here. Narvaez boxing from distance. He's the faster fighter and he looked pretty good counterpunching Rodriguez as he came in. He has good footwork. Good hooks. Round 1: 10-9 Narvaez 10-9 Narvaez
