As for Peralta/Guerro, that was one of the biggest upsets in years, odds wise. I took one glance at Peralta's record and thought nothing of him even making it a fight. Wish I had now! You could of made like 40 bucks on a 1 dollar bet there. Also on a PBC card was Devon Alexander/Aaron Martinez, where they gave the 14 to 1 underdog Martinez the win. They usually have awful judging on those TV cards.
Yeah I know, and thank you, but damn it when I get one of my gut feelings (you know which matches I'm talking about, the ones I harp on for pages on end), please listen. If you think I'm full of ****, then what'll it hurt? You'll get an easy win, and I'll take a loss, you win I lose, so I could be shooting myself in the foot.
Lara-Foreman, no matter how big of a mismatch it was, was an automatic add for me since it was a world title fight. Yes, a lot of world title fights are meaningless to many but it's an easy barometer I can keep up with when adding fights to the schedule.
Ah, ok. I'm new to the league so I don't know rules like that yet. I'm not harping on you, just adding some input. I've always known a surreal amount of work goes into this and I had to get on board (finally) because something like this is usually a lot of fun to be a part of.
Does anyone know, on average, how many posters take part in the league and post predictions on a constant basis? There seem to be a lot of posters who pick very sporadically or only a few times, period.
No, it's cool. I'm good at handling some criticism and any type of input is useful for the future success of the league
Around 30-40 these past years. League had significantly more active participants a couple years ago, not really sure what happened.
That's weird. Were the boards more active back then? I mostly hung around in the classic forum for quite a few years, so I don't really remember. Sucks there was such a drop off. Maybe the league will pick back up eventually?
Well I'm here now Pinoy, and I'm obsessed, I love leagues like this! It's why even though I don't like or watch MMA, I still pick almost all the mainstream MMA cards at Tapology lol.
No idea. The league and RBR threads are really the only places I am at in this forum, so I don't know the landscapes. But hopefully it will pick back up. CST has done a great job of recruiting for this year, picking up guys like yourself and KiwiMan who might give us veterans a tougher run to the top if you keep up with it.
ESB went from ESB to boxingforum24, got rid of pics, avatars, the lounge, and banned a significant chunk of the posters here (including a few leaguesters) I think between people leaving due to the site seemingly being downgraded, the bannings, ect, cut into our numbers quite a bit.
