2019 Lineage and Records​

Want to challenge the champion? Just look at the champion's upcoming fight picks. If you feel a pick by the champion will be wrong, post your pick, and announce that you want to challenge for the title!

Rules:
- First come first serve on challenges issued
- No stacking of challenges
- Can not challenge a fight more than 7 days away
- If champions change their pick after challenge has been set, they forfeit their title and it goes to the challenger who then becomes the interim champion, to fight for the vacant title against the next challenger
- Only 1 challenge per day, although a champion can have unlimited defenses per day
- Anyone who loses or forfeits a title fight, must wait until 3 challenges occur before they can challenge again. If no one has challenged the champion,

Kondo vs. Khongsong is a tricky matchup. Khongsong clearly edges it in terms of size, power, speed and is also the much younger side here. But despite being a big & crafty guy he lacks a good and constant jab and his footwork is very static. So what's the deal here? Is he able to catch Kondo and hurt him with a big right counter? Kondo was never stopped and according to Boxrec he wasn't even down on the canvas once in almost 13 years as a pro. That's impressive although he hasn't the best resume, losing almost every time he steps up the level of opposition but never getting demolished or something. He had his moments vs. Lipinets too (i think Lipinets is overrated so no big deal, Bone beat Lipinets). I do not rate Kondo at all but i think if he's boxing Khongsong from the distance and using his jab to distract the Thai he can set himself up for some good combos. I do not think Khongsong is packing glass. He was hit by some flush shots in his last fight vs. Katiandagho and wasn't wobbling or even buzzed. And i think Kondos power is massively overrated. Who has he stopped? Khongsong is pretty fast and has a good right counter, i can see him landing on Kondo. Kondo is usually missing a lot and going a bit wild. This is very tough to predict. Head says Kondo UD but my gut is leaning torwards Khongsong via stoppage, probably not even a brutal KO but a TKO after he hurts Kondo and unloading. I do not think Khongsong can win a decision with his style. He has no jab and he is going for single punches or 1,2s. Pretty inactive from time to time while waiting for a counter opportunity. Not a combination puncher at all. I doubt he can win many rounds here without knockdowns or stunning shots where he hurts Kondo.

I might switch my pick later on. Have to think about that one for a while although i am still leaning towards my first choice.

@Drinquor Can I ask a question about the WBK?

Pincai: Iwasa Close UD vs Leoh: Juarez Close UD / 10 (2) - 8 // Result Iwasa MD

When one judge scored the fight a draw (MD), I feel like Juarez close UD should make the result 10-9 instead of 10-8. The MD should count for something, currently the score is as if the fight ended in Iwasa UD. If I had it Iwasa Wide UD, it'd be 10-9, no? In terms of being closer to the result, I think Juarez close UD isn't worse than Iwasa Wide UD in this case. I don't understand which WBK rule oversees this. Just asking to learn, I'm fine with how ever you guys normally go about in the situations.

 

No. The rule is if sb. is picking a fighter who wins and the opponent is picking the fighter who lost then it's a 10-8, regardless if the pick was UD, MD, SD or KO.

Example.

Joshua vs. Miller

XYZ picks Joshua KO
ABC picks Miller MD

Result: Joshua MD

XYZ wins the round 10-8 vs. ABC

I am not playing right now but i think the rule is fine. Picking a winner right and your opponent not should give you a clear advantage and so it is with the 10-8 and a KD.
