Yep, highest two Elo excluding PinoyProdigy and nellybc who are fighting for the title. Also, we are both coming off two wins.

Books. Instead a lot of memory books when I was younger. Three techniques stuck out to me:

1) caricature of events

2) word association and pattern spotting

3) visualising a storage mechanism within your brain

 

always been meaning to research it, but never got around to it, do you have any recommendations for books to check out?

when you say visualising a storage mechanism within your brain, i take it thats a 'memory palace'?

 

They were books I read as a teenager so it was years and years ago now. I'm sure it was called "how to train your memory" I got them from the school library so don't own then any more.

Yeah some use a memory palace. With me it's more of a memory storage room. Like numerous filing cabinets that contain dividers.

I don't consistently train it any more but my memory is still far above average. The only really useful application is remembering licence plates when cars cut me up so I can get revenge at a later date.
