Back in 1993 my father had to travel to Toronto to work on an airplane. During that time the KINGS vs Leafs series was going on. He said when Gretzky didn't get the penalty against Gilmour, the whole city (radio stations, tv newscasts, billboards, newspapers, and people in general) went ape sh*t crazy...!!! He had to go back to Toronto in 2000, he said it was the same way, just people (especially Leafs front office) complaining about the most minor little things in the NHL...!!!

Funniest part of that Patrick Roy saga; he got dealt to the Avalanche who defeated Detroit in the playoff...Don Cherry said right after the trade, that Roy would get his revenge on both the Wings and Habs...and he did, by winning the cup with Colorado...and beating the hell out of Osgood and Vernon...!!!

Stephane Quintal, defenseman for the Habs on that Roy team, said that Tremblay had no clue how to run practices, do dump-in drills, break-out drills, etc...the players were pretty much self coached. Tremblay only got the job because of his tenure as a Habs player...!!! The fans never cared for his playing or coaching, but he was a YES Man and that made the front office happy...!!!
Fun little fact, Darryl Sutter was the head coach of The Flames when they almost won the stanley cup. He lived next door to my friend's dad house. Im not much of a hockey fan. I got to meet a lot of them (hockey players, and Canadian athletes for the recent winter the olympics) but I didnt care much for it.
