Nice win for Martinez IMO. It was going kinda how I thought it would for the first 7 rounds or so (no steward), then Martinez showed why hes the champ and went to the next gear, ending it as a pretty decent win considering how he dealt with him towards the end (imo) I would love love love for sergio to finally get to fight someone who has a solid following and mainstream backing. Canelo, Cotto, Mayweather, Sturm, anyways, was a fun night of boxing and glad martinez got the stoppage win.
Interesting cards BTW, I thought, as close as some were, Sexy won most rounds, and since he basically won the BS KD round, I scored it 10-9 for Macklin. Fortunately for us it pissed Maravilla up and started to tap dat ass, beautiful shots in the end. And STILL Sexy...
Im still hoping for a Martinez vs Mayweather fight, but man, Martinez would really have to be the one pushing the fight. He wouldnt be able to fight like he did tonight, he cant sit back and wait for mayweather. Also, I could see that being a pretty frustrating/boring fight after a couple rounds, both of them waiting and trying to counter the other lol.... I could see that turning really bad. But man, that is probably the fight I want to see the most almost in all of boxing.
Martinez frustrated the **** out of me. When he threw combinations he landed them and he was effective but he wanted to throw single shots.
