“I tried to give it my best. It was a very close fight. I give all the credit to Richard Abril but he did not come to fight,” former world champion Brandon Rios said following his controversial split decision win Saturday night in Las Vegas. Abril was a no-show at the post-fight presser, so Rios had the media all to himself.
“He did hit me good but like I said he did not come to fight” Rios repeated. “It’s not my job to criticize the referee but Abril was holding a lot throughout the fight there is nothing I can do about that. We had a feeling he was going to hold a lot after watching tape on him.”
“I did get frustrated. He would hold me like if he was trying to break my arm and I even told the referee,” Rios told Fightnews.com later.
“A win is a win to me. I love it. I think I could of done better. I killed myself trying to make 135.”
After failing to make weight for the second consecutive fight Bam Bam, will almost certainly move up to super lightweight and a possible July showdown against WBO interim jr welterweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
“I would love that fight with Marquez,” Rios told Fightnews.com. “Don’t get me wrong. Marquez is a legend but I will give the fans what they want in that fight but life goes on and I am ready for the next thing.”

To win the tournament two times in a row, the second with 16 participants, is simply incredible.

I apologize to all the participants that I wasnt able to capture it the way I did the first one, I simply dont have the time at the moment....

Hey gang, (mainly PinoyProdigy), starting next month we will put a cap on our fights at 35 per month. I know that might be unpopular, but I want to do that and see how it goes. If it seems we are just missing too many -cant miss- fights, Ill change it back. But I want to try giving a cap to them.
