Kirk, the p4p rules: will you inbox them to me and I can make the spreadsheet.

That way, if we ever have a point this year were all the info is available I can restart the p4p rankings.

According to espn intentional was correct: the wbc have officially zero jurisdiction on a fight result.

It is the state who forward the fight result to the record keepers.

That being said, the fight was fought under the wbc ruleset and by wbc rules it should have been a draw providing a foul was ruled; if the csac deem chad committed a foul they have no choice but the change the result to either a td or a dq.

The confusion is to do with roles: wbc brought the rulebook but the state still sanctioned the fight officially.

I have no reason why the wbc changed the result in their records as that opens pandora's box and is totally outside of their remit. I hope for the sake of continuity the csac come to the same conclusion.

They will... Can't recall any occasion when a sanctioning body decided something and the local commission refused to accept it. In most likeliness waiting for December is pure technicality - the WBC decided by rules and expect the CSAC to change accordingly when time comes. I'm just a bit pissed it takes 2 months (unless there's a quick statement that they OK the WBC's decision.)

TKO - nonsense. DQ - too harsh. NC - wonder why it's not an option. TD - correct ruling.

Nor can I think of any occasion like this in the past but it needs stressing tho:

The wbc have no right to rule that chad committed a foul nor do they have the right to overturn a result.

I think it's a technicality also but the result stands for now.

But they do, they review fights all the time, you just VERY rarely see them changing a result. From there it's pure technicality to forward the request to whatever commission to make it official, but if the WBC discovers something wrong or not according to rules on tape following an appeal, they can review their own fight and decide.

There IS a possibility of course that the CSAC will refuse WBC's ruling and uphold the original decision, I think that's what IB's trying to say, they have the final word. But then again, I've never heard of such a thing. Therefore it should be pure technicality, because it should've been TD in the 1st place. Those are the rules.

After Soto/Lorenzo the WBC refused to award Lorenzo the trinket that was on the line but the result was never officially changed.
